Negan remains a shadowy threat for the moment, but his influence is felt in a new clip and teaser for next week's episode of "The Walking Dead."

Alicia Witt ("Justified," "Friday Night Lights") makes her debut, in the flesh, in a scene showing the close of last night's episode form the other side of the walkie talkie. As she and her team ponder what's happening to the men inside Negan's compound, they take Maggie and Carol hostage, using their names to leverage Rick, Michonne, Daryl and the rest into laying down their guns.

Based on the Image Comics series of the same name and created by Robert Kirkman, "The Walking Dead" airs Sundays at 9 pm EST on AMC.
