"Without giving away any spoilers, we’re definitely going to continue the arc for Nebula and find out more about her past," Gillan said. "And actually, we’re going to find out that it’s even worse than we know."

The last time fans checked in with Nebula was Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which also delved in to her tragic past. Her dysfunctional family, headed by Thanos, saw her face off against her own adoptive sister, Gamora. It was revealed that Nebula gained her appearance as Thanos incrementally turned her into more of a cyborg with each lost battle. With all of that baggage, it's not surprising to hear that Nebula's emotional response will be significant.

"We’re going to see her confront all of it." Gillan said. "It’s going to be like an emotional explosion."

If anything, a succinct explanation is likely all Nebula and Gamora would need to convince the Guardians and Avengers of just how monstrous Thanos can be.
