Early next year, Marvel Comics' Nebula will star in her very first solo title.

Marvel Comics' Nebula is set to launch this February. The six-part limited series comes from writer Vita Ayala (Prisoner X) and artist Claire Roe (Fearless). It follows the titular character, who is in pursuit of what is described as a "secret device." However, if she wants to get her hands on it, she'll have to be one step ahead of one of the galaxy's most infamous bounty hunters.

"[Since] the movies kind of reinvigorated interest in her, we've gotten to see her pop up more and more in the comics," Ayala told Refinery29. "And now, here's her solo title where all we do is really dive deep and explore who she is and why she does what she does. That's kind of my jam.

"I really want to kind of showcase how cool Nebula is even though she's a bad guy, and how much more complex she is than what we might assume... it was my mission to try and show who she is on a kind of two-dimensional level," she continued. "Being able to be in her head and fill out all the corners is really given me an appreciation for her, and I want other people to also love her and want her to do her best."

Created by Roger Stern and John Buscema, Nebula -- daughter of Thanos and sister of Gamora -- first appeared in 1985's Avengers #257. As Ayala mentions, the character has been reinvigorated by the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Played by Karen Gillan, Nebula made her big screen debut in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy. Gillan has since reprised her role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

Written by Vita Ayala and illustrated by Claire Roe, Nebula #1 is slated to go on sale February 2020 from Marvel Comics. The solicitation information, as well as Jen Bartel's cover, can be found below. (Note: Marvel describes the comic as a six-part limited series. However, the socilit provided by the publisher lists it as a five-parter.)
