Tin Man co-star Neal McDonough has confirmed a report from late last week that he'll play Dum Dum Dugan in Captain America: The First Avenger.

"It's going to be a blast with Chris [Evans], Sam Jackson, Tommy Lee Jones and everyone else," McDonough said Sunday outside the MTV Movie Awards. "It's going to be fantastic. We're going to tear it up!"

That makes him the second cast member to confirm rumors of Jones' involvement in Captain America. There's nothing official yet, but IMDB.com and other online outlets say Jones will play Gen. Chester Phillips, the officer who handpicks Steve Rogers for the Operation Reborn experiment.

Timothy Aloysius Cadwallader "Dum Dum" Dugan is a marksman and former circus strongman who was one of Sgt. Nick Fury's Howling Commandos and, later, a SHIELD agent. McDonough told MTV he is already working on Dugan's trademark mustache, and plans to don the character's bowler hat.

However, he said Fury's elite team may not be known as the Howling Commandos in the film (in the comics the official name of the unit was the First Attack Squad).

"I'm not sure at this point. It may change — I'm reading a few things that it might change," McDonough. "But at this point, it still is. All I know is that I'm going to kick some butt and it's going to be a blast."

McDonough appeared in Star Trek: First Contact, Ravenous, Band of Brothers, Boomtown and Desperate Housewives, and was the voice of Bruce Banner in the 1996-1997 Incredible Hulk animated series.

He joins Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Hugo Weaving, Hayley Atwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Toby Jones, Stanley Tucci and, apparently, Tommy Lee Jones in the Joe Johnston-directed adaptation. Captain America: The First Avenger is due in theaters on July 22, 2011.
