Legendary artist Neal Adams, best known for creating the modern-day Batman, is partnering with Vorto Gaming for an exclusive comic book and NFT collection.

Adams, who is also known for his work on stories and visuals in both DC and Marvel comics like Superman, X-Men and Green Lantern, will work with Vorto Gaming to compose a bespoke comic book around the gaming company's title, Hash Rush. It will be released on the free-to-play gaming platform Vorto Network later in 2021.

"Gaming is without a doubt the most innovative entertainment industry of the past decade and is shaping so many different aspects of our culture," Adams said. "We're moving into a period in history where we are spending as much time exploring digital, imaginary worlds as we are living in this one. Comic books were always a transportation tool -- taking us to another place, to experience another story, even just for a moment. Hash Rush is no different and I"m looking forward to sharing this story with the world."

NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) are cryptocurrencies where each piece is accompanied by artwork or a video clip, making each NFT one-of-a-kind. If you trade an NFT, you are trading one unique collectible for another. Fans will be required to sign up for the Hash Rush playtest phase to get the comic book, which will be available to purchase through a limited number of NFTs. The playtest phase is currently accepting registrants.

CEO of Vorto Gaming, Kris Vavoids, called the partnership "a signal of our intent as a gaming organization to make amazing content, assets and NFTs available for the wider gaming community," which, he continued, is "a key objective of Vorto Gaming and our mission to create a more democratic culture and environment for gamers all over the world."

The Hash Rush comic book, set in the Hermeian galaxy, will feature new and existing characters from the original game, with a new story created by Adams alongside ComicFirst Entertainment and Adams' long-time mentee, artist Mikael Bergkvist. According to a press release, details on the comic and NFT series release date will be revealed in the next few weeks.

"[Adams] has been one of the most influential figures in the entertainment industry for three generations -- from comic book pages to Hollywood movies," said Bergkvist. "I have admired his work as a fan for many years, and I'm now fortunate to be able to learn from him as my colleague and mentor. I'm excited for what we can deliver with Hash Rush and hopefully we can create another piece of entertainment history."
