NCIS: Los Angeles has been canceled at CBS, with the long-running crime drama's ongoing 14th season set to be its last on the network.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, CBS announced that the SoCal-centric NCIS spinoff would air its series finale later this year on May 14. It was one year prior -- on May 8, 2022 -- that NCIS: Los Angeles hit the 300-episode mark during its 13th season.

"For 14 seasons, NCIS: Los Angeles has been a stalwart of our lineup with characters who were a joy to watch," CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach said in an official statement. "It’s no surprise this show succeeded as a global franchise. From day one, the cast, producers and crew were amazing network/studios partners, and their teamwork, talent and spirit vividly came through on the screen. We are so grateful for the collaboration and remarkable run of these treasured members of our CBS family, and plan to give them the big sendoff they and their fans deserve."

NCIS: Los Angeles Reaches the End of the Road

NCIS: Los Angeles initially premiered on CBS in September 2009. Over the years, the series has featured a rotating cast, with its current stars including Chris O'Donnell (Batman Forever) as G. Callen, Daniela Ruah (Red Tails) as Kensi Blye, LL Cool J (Halloween H20: 20 Years Later) as Sam Hanna, Eric Christian Olsen (Not Another Teen Movie) as Marty Deeks, Medalion Rahimi (Pam & Tommy) as Fatima Namazi, Caleb Castille (In the Vault) as Devin Roundtree and Gerald McRaney (Jericho) as Hollace Kilbride.

NCIS: Los Angeles was the first series to spin out of NCIS, which itself began life as a spinoff of JAG. NCIS premiered on CBS in 2003 and is currently in the midst of its 20th season. In addition to NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS has spawned such other spinoff shows as NCIS: New Orleans and NCIS: Hawai'i. NCIS: New Orleans premiered on CBS in 2014 and concluded with Season 7 in 2021. Meanwhile, NCIS: Hawai'i premiered on the network in 2021 and is currently in the midst of its second season.

NCIS: Sydney, the NCIS franchise's first international spinoff, is currently in the works. The series is expected to premiere sometime this year. It will air on Network 10 in Australia and on Paramount+ internationally.
