NBC hopes Warrior will bring the network some ratings magic. The new series, which was just ordered to pilot, comes from David DiGilio, who co-executive produced Crossbones and The Traveler.

Deadline describes the series as "a grounded, contemporary multicultural and sometimes magical milieu where a damaged heroine works undercover with physical and spiritual guidance from a mysterious martial arts master to bring down an international crime lord."

As the site points out, this is the first traditional pilot order of the season and will possibly work with the network's other genre stalwart Grimm to round out the Friday lineup.
