Deadline is reporting than NBC is developing Vines, a drama created by 4400 writer Mark Kruger about a winery where the vines have supernatural powers. Acting as executive producer on the series is Hideo Nakata, director of The Ring, who's currently considering whether or not to direct the pilot. Is this a case where the pedigree of those involved trumps what sounds like a dopey premise? Here's hoping...
