We all know Liam Neeson's character Bryan Mills from the incredible "Taken" film franchise owns a very particular set of skills acquired over a very long career. The films never really expanded on how exactly he acquired the skills he used to rescue his daughter and make those that did it sorry, but fans will soon know as Deadline reports that NBC has given a straight-to-series order for a "Taken" prequel series.

Produced by "Taken" writer/producer Luc Besson, the series will follow Mills pre-wife and children and showcase his younger days in the CIA and beyond. However, the television show will play with time a bit as it'll be set in present day and not in the past -- and also presumably not star Liam Neeson.

The search is currently underway for a showrunner/head writer for the series.
