It looks like after the dissolution of the Thursday night comedy block, NBC is getting back into the sitcom business. Variety reports the network has given a pilot order to a new comedy series from Scrubs and Cleveland Show writer Aseem Batra and brothers Anthony and Joe Russo.

The untitled project is described as a politically incorrect office comedy centered around the friendship between two characters named Dale and Georgie. Trouble -- and most likely hilarity -- ensues when one of those friends starts dating what the logline calls "the perfect woman." Batra will both executive produce and write the pilot, and the Russos will serve as executive producers.

Most recently known for directing Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the Russos actually got their start in the sitcom world. Together they directed the pilot episodes for Arrested Development, Community and Happy Endings in addition to dozens of other installments in all three sitcoms. The pair also won an Emmy Award in 2004 for helming the debut Arrested Development episode.
