NBC has given a pilot order to the Night Court revival series.

"My intention was purely to be behind the camera on this project, but my plans quickly changed after falling in love with the incredible script from the brilliant mind of Dan Rubin," star and executive producer Melissa Rauch said. "I couldn’t be more thrilled to join forces with Dan, the immense talent that is John Larroquette, and the two powerhouse institutions of comedy that are NBC and Warner Bros. to bring Night Court back to television."

Created by Reinhold Weege, Night Court ran on NBC from 1984-1989 and centered on Harold "Harry" T. Stone, a Manhattan municipal court judge who served on the night shift. The new series will feature Stone's daughter Abby (played by Rauch), "who follows in her father’s footsteps as she presides over the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court and tries to bring order to its crew of oddballs and cynics, most notably former night court prosecutor Dan Fielding." Stone was played by Harry Anderson in the original, and the actor passed away in 2018.

Night Court was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards, four Television Critics Association Awards and 11 Primetime Emmys, winning for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Larroquette) in 1985-1988.

Night Court stars Melissa Rauch and John Larroquette. The pilot has yet to receive a premiere date.
