NBC Grabs J.J. Abrams’ Comedic Drama With Lost’s Linus And Locke

Well, that was fast: Just two days after word emerged that J.J. Abrams was shopping a series reuniting Lost‘s Michael Emerson and Terry O’Quinn, Vulture reports NBC has picked up the project.

A comedic drama about former black-ops agents, the project was previously known as Odd Jobs but now is technically untitled. Vulture says that NBC, which premiered Abrams’ Undercovers tonight, has made a pilot commitment to the show. Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec (Alias, Mission Impossible IV) are writers/executive producers, while Abrams and his Bad Robot partner Bryan Burk are also executive producers.

Odd Jobs appears to be rooted in an idea for a “TNT-type” show about suburban hitmen that O’Quinn floated back in February.

It’s a red-letter day for Abrams, whose prison drama Alcatraz — it’s a collaboration with Lost writer/producer Elizabeth Sarnoff — was picked up to pilot by Fox.
