NBC appears to have a bit of faith in its occult detective/con man, as Deadline reports the network has ordered three additional scripts ahead of Constantine's Oct. 24 premiere.

The website notes that picking up extra scripts for a promising series is a relatively inexpensive way for a network to buy itself some time before it has to commit to a longer order.

Game of Thrones and Doomsday director Neil Marshall helmed the pilot, written by David S. Goyer and Daniel Cerone.

Matt Ryan stars as John Constantine alongside Harold Perrineau as his guardian angel Manny, Charles Halford as his longtime friend Chas, and Angélica Celaya as the psychic Zed. Michael James Shaw and Emmett Scanlan will also appear as Papa Midnight and Jim Corrigan, respectively.

Constantine premieres Oct. 24 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
