To celebrate the NBA season and the upcoming release of "Doctor Strange," ESPN teamed with Marvel for a series of illustrations that depict some of the sport's biggest names imbued by the Sorcerer Supreme with mystical powers.

Thanks to his record-shattering 400 three-pointers in a single season, the Golden State Warriors' Steph Curry receives the coveted Eye of Agamotto in an illustration by Greg Land and Chris Sotomayor, while his new teammate Kevin Durant is drawn by Oscar Jiminez with the "versatility of Vishanti," the extra-dimensional triumvirate of mystical beings.

The Cleveland Cavaliers' Lebron James enjoys magical superhuman strength, as depicted by Dale Keown and Sotomayor, thanks to his victorious performance in the 2016 NBA Finals, and Kawhi Leonard of the San Diego Spurs is declared "defender of Earth and the cosmos" by Jay Anacleto and Sotomayor due to his back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year awards. Finally, Russell Westbrook receives thunder and lightning from J.L. Giles and Wil Quintana for his dust-turning speed and because he plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Directed by Scott Derrickson, "Doctor Strange" stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Michael Stuhlbarg, Benjamin Bratt, Scott Adkins, Mads Mikkelsen and Tilda Swinton. The film opens Nov. 4 in North America.
