Disney+ has revealed the full title for the upcoming National Treasure TV series.

The official Twitter for the show posted its new title card, which reads "National Treasure: Edge of History," alongside a caption that says "Ready for another adventure?" Disney+ ordered a 10-episode season of National Treasure earlier this year. According to the description, the series "explores the timely issues of identity, community, historical authorship and patriotism, told from the point of view of Jess Morales, a twenty-year-old DREAMer who, with her diverse group of friends, sets off on the adventure of a lifetime to uncover her mysterious family history and recover lost treasure."

Starring as the protagonist Jess is We Need to Do Something's Lisette Alexis. Also in the cast is Chicago's Catherine Zeta-Jones, who plays Billie, a "badass billionaire, black-market antiquities expert, and treasure hunter who lives by her own code." Other series regulars include Flatbush Misdemeanors' Zuri Reed as Tasha, Lady Bird's Jordan Rodrigues as Ethan, Broadway actor Antonio Cipriano as Oren, Jake Austin Walker as Liam, and Evil Intent's Lyndon Smith as FBI Agent Ross.

Attached as a director is Lucifer star Kevin Alejandro, who announced his involvement via Instagram in May. "One more day left!!" Alejandro wrote. "I've been in Louisiana for almost a month directing [National Treasure] for [Disney+]. Thank you to all the crew, actors, producers, and every human on this show! This will always go down as one of the best experiences of my life. I am so grateful to you ALL!!"

While there have been rumors of a third National Treasure film being in the works alongside the series, nothing has been confirmed so far. In 2020, the show's producer Jerry Bruckheimer stated, "We're currently working on one [National Treasure] for streaming and we're working on one for the big screen... hopefully, they'll both come together and we'll bring you another National Treasure."

However, the original National Treasure star Nicolas Cage said in 2021, "I have not heard hide nor hair about it," adding, "So often these things we read about are just conjecture without any base or foundation to it." He also noted, "It's been 14 years... Is it fun to think about? Sure."

National Treasure, which follows Cage as a historian named Benjamin Franklin Gates on a quest to steal the Declaration of Independence for the clues it holds to a secret national treasure, is currently available to stream on Disney+.
