It was only a few weeks ago, at Comic-Con International in San Diego, that Marvel Studios announced Natalie Portman's Jane Foster would return to star in Thor: Love and Thunder as the God of Thunder herself. At the time of the announcement, director Taika Waititi said the film would be inspired by writer Jason Aaron's sprawling Mighty Thor saga, illustrated by the likes of Esad Ribic and Russell Dauterman.Now, star Natalie Portman reveals that she's been prepping for the role by reading the comics.RELATED: Kevin Feige Reveals His Favorite Marvel Movie Title To DateOn Instagram, the actress shared a story showcasing the trade paperbacks she's currently reading to get prep for the role. The story featured four volumes of The Mighty Thor: "Thunder In Her Veins," "Lords of Midgard," "The Asgard/Shi'ar War" and "The Death of the Mighty Thor." The actress then tagged Marvel, of course, with a simple caption: "Werk."

Portman's Instagram story caught the attention of Aaron, who cared a screen cap along with the message, "Looks like Natalie’s already getting that thunder in her veins."

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. The film arrives in theaters on November 5, 2021.
