Character growth was a big part of Naruto as a series. Almost everyone got a character arc of some form, be it big or small. Naruto's is the most obvious as he went from annoying little brat to a man much of the village aspired to be. His change is what really drove the series in Shippuden.

While not as large, Hinata's was just as good. She was a cripplingly shy girl who could barely talk to people most of the time, and by the end, was secure in who she was. Despite all that change, there was plenty about her core character that remained the same.

10 Different: She became Less Of A Burden to team 8, taking more risks to protect the team

Her time in team 8 slowly started to change this, but it wasn't until the time skip that she truly exhibited the growth. When she first joined them, she still looked to them for aid when in positions that made her uncomfortable, hoping that they would save her when things got too scary.

Eventually, she grew out of this, taking risks to protect them rather than be a burden of dead weight on them. Along with Naruto, it was Team 8 that helped her grow as a person.

9 Same: She always prioritizes her Love For Her Family before anything else

Stayed The Same: She Still Looked Up To Her Older Sister

As a girl, she had a deep love for her family, always putting them before herself. Even as her father disinherited her due to her perceived weakness, she still held that same love for them.

With how most of them treated her, it wouldn't have been strange to see her hold a grudge against them, yet, she continued to show overwhelming warmth to them. She agreed to marry Toneri in Naruto The Last, to save Hanabi on the moon, even if it meant hurting Naruto.

8 Different: she learned to Never Give Up & was willing to do whatever it took to continue to improve herself

Hinata Never Giving Up

Her new outlook on life can be attributed almost entirely to Naruto, as it was his unwillingness to give up that helped inspire her. No matter the challenge, he'd always keep trying, even if everyone told him he couldn't do it.

Hinata always admired that in him and, in time, took the same mentality herself. She wasn't afraid of battles anymore, nor was she afraid to take chances.

7 Same: the immense love she has for Naruto has never changed

Hinata Love For Naruto

One thing that's always remained consistent and will always be the case with Hinata is the immense love she has for Naruto. Ever since she was a girl, she's felt a kinship toward him.

At first, it was admiration from afar, loving his mentality and personality. Over time, it became an infatuation that took over half the series for her to finally voice. Even now that they are married, that love has remained, Hinata adoring him with every fiber of her being.

6 Different: she's more willing to speak openly with others & has a willingness to show a greater array of emotions

Hinata Hyuga watches Naruto.

In the past, she was more likely to lurk in the background or watch from afar, always too afraid to show her true self because of a lack of self-confidence.

Once she marries Naruto, most of that whittles away as she's achieved her long-sought goal of having her love reciprocated by him. With that no longer an issue, she's more willing to speak openly with others, and more than just that, she has a willingness to show a greater array of emotions, such as laughing in public.

5 Same: Her kindness has only seemed to intensify

The sense of kindness that Hinata has is never going to change, no matter how much she develops as a character. It is essential to who she is, the most vital trait of her personality. Ever since she was a little girl, she was warm and kind to everyone around her, to a fault at times.

As the series has progressed, the kindness has only seemed to intensify, letting her be that light in the darkness for Naruto and others. She's always willing to be there to help pick up others in their moment of doubt.

4 Different: she has become Stricter & is not afraid to discipline either of her kids

Hinata became stricter

Now that she's a mother forced to care for not one but two children, she's adopted a more strict personality with them. She can't afford to be meek and shy with them, especially not with Naruto, often swamped with his duties as the Hokage.

Having to shoulder most of the parental duties means she has to be willing to be the bad guy, and she's adapted to it rather well. She isn't afraid to discipline either of her kids and likes to keep her home as structured as possible.

3 Same: those rose-tinged cheeks will always be present, even now that she's married to Naruto

Hinata Hyuga blushes in Naruto Shippuden.

Her confidence is lightyears away from what it was, but that doesn't mean she's above feeling bashful around others, particularly Naruto. It's a trait that's hard to kick when you are naturally shy as she is.

No matter how hard she may try, those rose-tinged cheeks will always be present, even now that she's married to Naruto. Luckily, it's a little better than it used to be. Now she can actually talk to him without having her whole face turn red.

2 Different: She began to wear more form-fitting clothes, unafraid to show off her figure

Hinata was notoriously conservative with her attire, wearing big clothes that covered as much of her as possible. It went right along with her shy personality, afraid to ever show too much of herself to other people.

As the series went on and her feelings towards Naruto were expressed, her attire became more relaxed. She began to wear more form-fitting clothes, unafraid to show off her figure now that her confidence had grown.

1 Same: her Lack Of Talent In Ninjutsu remains even though she's become a master of the Gentle Fist

Hinata Hyuga Twin Lion Fist

As a Hyuga, her talents were always going to be centered around Taijutsu and the use of her Gentle Fist technique. Even as she's progressed as a ninja, becoming easily twice as strong as she once was, her focus remained on those two things.

It's hard to argue against it either, as she's become a master of the Gentle Fist and easily the strongest living Hyuga. When you have that, you don't need to learn or utilize much ninjutsu.
