Naruto Uzumaki and Konohamaru Sarutobi are two of the strongest and the most influential characters in the story of Naruto. Right from the beginning of the Naruto series to the current events in the Boruto series, these two have had a major role to play, with Naruto being the main character, and Konohamaru being his apprentice.

With the aim of being Hokage one day, both of them have trained rigorously over the years to achieve that dream. While both of them are able shinobi, fans often raise the question of which ones is stronger. We've answered the question for you, so let's get started!

7 Strength

One of the most important aspects of a shinobi is their strength, and neither Konohamaru not Naruto Uzumaki lack any of it. Thanks to receiving excellent training both of them have gained a tremendous amount of strength over the years. Being a Sarutobi, Konohamaru possesses decent power and he excels in Taijutsu as well.

Naruto, although not that impressive initially, has managed to take his powers to godly levels, where he can take down some Otsutsuki clan members with just a single punch. Furthermore, a below-half-power Naruto was capable of breaking the crust of the moon in his fight against Toneri indicating his monstrous power. As evident, Naruto is quite clearly stronger, and there's no comparison between the two when it comes to strength.

6 Speed

A dexterous shinobi focuses on strength, but also hones their speed to get an edge in battle. Being high-level shinobi, both Naruto and Konohamaru Sarutobi are capable of moving tremendously fast, although there's a drastic difference between the two. Konohamaru, while fast, hasn't displayed any major speed feats in the Naruto or the Boruto series. He matched Jugo in battle to some extent, but was overwhelmed, and his battle against Kashin Koji wasn't all that different.

When it comes to Naruto, we see a display of substantial speed feats. During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Naruto Uzumaki was able to dodge the Raikage's full-speed fist at point-blank range and it is critical to note that Naruto wasn't even close to using his full-power back then. As he got stronger, he gained speed enough to dodge lightspeed attacks at point-blank range, and we see a display of it in his fights against Madara Uchiha and Delta.

5 Intelligence

Both Naruto and Konohamaru are similar when it comes to intelligence as much of Konohamaru's character seems to be based on Naruto Uzumaki. They both seem to be blockheads, but in combat, they're probably the smartest ones around. Often, Naruto gets downplayed by the claims of him being 'stupid', which couldn't be far from the truth. As a teen, Naruto showed tremendous intelligence to master abilities such as the Rasengan, and even the Rasenshuriken, something that Minato failed at doing.

He's figured out the weakness of his enemies with clever ploys, as displayed in his fight against Kakuzu, Pain, Kaguya, Delta among others. Konohamaru has become a very dependable ninja over the years, and it goes without saying that he's intelligent as well. When it comes to staying calm, Konohamaru certainly has the edge over Naruto.

4 Ninjutsu

Konohamaru Rasengan

Naruto Uzumaki has a wide range of Jutsu that he's learned over the years. He's managed to learn the shadow clone which he's incorporated in almost every Jutsu of his, such as the Rasengan and the Rasenshuriken. With the Six Paths chakra, Naruto gains the ability to use all Nature Transformations, although he's only seen using Earth Release. Konohamaru excels at Ninjutsu as well, and he's a user of 3 nature types which include Fire, Water, and Wind Release.

He has shown a massive arsenal of Jutsu, which is certainly more diverse than Naruto's. When it comes to more potent Ninjutsu, Naruto certainly is miles ahead, but Konohamaru has more diversity.

3 Chakra Reserves

'Chakra reserves' refers to the amount of chakra that a ninja has to expend. Just like a ninja's ability, the chakra reserves vary from person to person as well. The members of the Sarutobi clan possesses large chakra pools, and therefore, Konohamaru is no exception to this. Being an elite ninja, he can use multiple shadow clones and other Ninjutsu at the same time. Unfortunately for him, his chakra is not even close to Naruto's level. Just as a kid, Naruto was capable of producing thousands of shadow-clones.

In the Fourth Great Ninja War, Naruto fought continuously for days and did so while sharing his chakra with the entire alliance at the same time. Even after that, he went on to fight the likes of Madara Uchiha and Kaguya Otsutsuki. Having saved the world from Kaguya's threat, he then fought Sasuke Uchiha (who was absorbing the powers of 9 Tailed Beasts) all alone. Evidently, Naruto is miles above Konohamaru when it comes to chakra reserves.

2 Leadership Qualities

naruto hokage

As kids, both Naruto Uzumaki and Konohamaru aimed to become the Hokage of Konoha. With Naruto leaping ahead of Konohamaru and becoming the Seventh Hokage, he's certainly a better leader. Naruto has adopted Hiruzen Sarutobi's philosophy of treating everyone in the village as his family, which is also the philosophy on which the Will of Fire is based upon.

Konohamaru, although not a Hokage, is an equally impressive leader. Being the grandson of Hiruzen Sarutobi, Konohamaru has inherited his Will of Fire as well. His skill has led to him becoming the Jonin leader of Team 7, and before long, he'll rise to the position of the Hokage as well.

1 Overall

Without a doubt, Naruto Uzumaki is a far better shinobi than Konohamaru Sarutobi as of now. Comparisons drawn between the two based on fighting abilities certainly prove Naruto to be a lot stronger than Konohamaru. However, Konohamaru isn't the finished product just yet. With a lot of potential still to fulfill, he can get closer to Naruto's level in the future of the story.

Being the main Jonin leader in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Konohamaru will get his moments to shine eventually, which will consequently make him stronger, and take him a step closer to his dream of becoming the next Hokage.
