As a main character and hero, it’s quite understandable that Masashi Kishimoto would give Naruto Uzumaki worthy upgrades above other characters. From Naruto through Shippuden, fans have witnessed how this hero grew through hard times and strengthened himself while he gaining the trust of those who once saw him as a monster. Has he gradually become the symbol of hope and peace for mankind and tailed beast, he not only gained the trust of all the tailed beasts but also acquired the name as the jinchuriki of all tailed beasts. Based on this, many fans consider Naruto to also be, in a sense, the ten-tails jinchuriki.

Before the birth of the shinobi world, Hagoromo Otsutsuki (Sage of Six Paths) became the jinchuriki for the ten-tails after defeating her mother Kaguya Otsutsuki with help from Hamura Otsutsuki – his brother. After some years, he splitted the ten-tails chakra into nine tailed beasts using his power of Creation Of All Things and named them according to the number of tails they possessed from one to nine. He then told the tailed beasts a time would come when they would once again be merged together as one and someone would show them what true power really is.

Years later, Hashirama Senju captured all the tailed beasts and distributed them to all the villages so as to maintain equality. Kurama (nine-tails) who had initially been captured from Madara’s defeat ended up in Konoha where he was sealed into Mito Uzumaki and later into Kushina Uzumaki as jinchuriki.

During Kushina’s childbirth to deliver Naruto, there was an infiltration that led to the freedom of the nine-tails and his rampage on the village. In an attempt to stop this, Minato (Naruto’s father) sealed Yang-Kurama (Half-Kurama) into newly born Naruto and the Yin-Kurama into himself before both parents died. Years later, Naruto had managed to control and subdue the chakra of the unwilling nine-tails, although not without some help from his mother’s chakra.

During the Fourth Shinobi World War, all the tailed beasts had been captured except the nine-tails and eight-tails. In order to capture the two beasts, Tobi forcefully controlled the initially captured tailed beasts, forcing Naruto to fight back with some help from Kurama. At this point, Kurama finally allowed Naruto to fully control his powers and even go into full Kurama chakra form. Together both managed to subdue the tailed beasts to temporarily free them from Tobi’s command. Through this victory, Naruto managed to gain the trust of all the tailed beasts, and in return, he not only learned their names but also recieved a large portion of each one’s chakra.

This wasn’t enough, until he got a Yang power upgrade from the Sage of Six Paths. This power allowed him to manifest truth-seeking orbs (black floating balls) and immense healing powers. Usually, the only people seen to have manifest these powers were the jinchuriki of the ten-tails or users of tenseigan like Toneri Otsutsuki. At this point, Naruto could willfully manipulate and use the chakras of all the tailed beasts. He basically displayed the same attributes with all jinchuriki of ten-tails, except he didn’t have a rinnegan. To cap it, whenever the tailed beasts needed to communicate they could literally hold meetings inside Naruto – this is because they acknowledge him and he possessed the chakras of each one of them. During the Fourth Shinobi War, Obito was able to awaken the ten-tails with only seven tailed beasts and fragments of chakra from eight-tails and nine-tails, although it came out in an incomplete form but was more formidable than any tailed beast could ever be.

Considering these theories, Naruto could be the jinchuriki for just another incomplete ten-tails, and through the war, he has shown how capable and powerful enough he is to handle the ten-tails and all its chakras.
