Naruto: The 10 Strongest Jinchūriki In The Series, Ranked

The Naruto series follows the story of Naruto Uzumaki, whose aim is to become the Hokage of Konoha. To achieve this goal, Naruto has had to train rigorously over several years. One of his primary sources of power is the tailed beast that dwells within him and goes by the name of Kurama. The powers of this beast make him very special. However, Naruto isn't the only person in the series who has had such a beast sealed within him. In fact, there are lots of similar people who come from various villages. These people who are like vessels for the tailed beasts, and are known as jinchūriki. In this post, we'll rank the ten strongest jinchūriki that we've seen in the entire Naruto series.

10 Roshi

Roshi was a feared ninja from Iwagakure. Just like Naruto, he had a tailed beast sealed within him as well. At some point in his life, he left his home to be able to master the powers of his beast. His tailed beast Sōn Goku, also known as four tails, possessed the Kekkei Genkai of lava release. Roshi was able to manifest the powers of the four tails to a certain degree. His strongest weapon was the lava release chakra mode, which granted him enough strength to go head to head against even S-ranked criminals such as Kisame of the Akatsuki. Strong as he was, he still couldn't defeat Kisame and ended up dying shortly afterward, which is why he is 10th on this list.

9 Kushina Uzumaki

Kushina Uzumaki is Naruto Uzumaki's mother. Just like Naruto, she too was a jinchūriki. Kushina harbored the nine tails before Naruto was born. According to Hiruzen, she was made a jinchūriki because of her compatibility with the beast. Either way, Kushina Uzumaki was remarkably strong. She was feared throughout the village, and went by the name of 'Red-Hot Habanero.' Kushina's strength was such that she was able to survive the extraction of a tailed beast. Even getting impaled by the nine tails didn't put an end to her, and that's certainly a testament to her incredible powers.

8 Gaara

Gaara made his debut in early Naruto and is the second jinchūriki introduced to us after Naruto himself. Gaara's own father wanted to make him into a weapon and thus sealed the one-tailed beast, Shukaku, in him. He was barely able to control his powers, though, and the entire village feared him even as a child! Gaara was capable of killing even a full-fledged jonin as a genin, which shows a glimpse of his insane powers.

Over the time skip, his skills evolved drastically to the point where he became one of the youngest Kage ever, just at the age of 15. Gaara's Shukaku was ultimately stolen from him by the Akatsuki, but he remains to be one of the strongest characters in the series ever.

7 Yagura Karatachi

One of the very few people who could be termed as 'perfect jinchūriki,' Yagura Karatachi was the Fourth Mizukage of Kirigakure. At a young age, this ninja completely tamed the three-tailed beast, named Isobu, within him. As such, he could use its powers to the fullest, which is something that regular jinchūriki cannot even hope of doing. Yagura's sheer strength and control over his beast made him into a Kage at a very young age. He was strong enough to take on two Akatsuki members at once, and he even managed to kill one of them. Indeed, Yagura was a ninja to be feared.

6 Killer Bee

One of the most influential characters in Naruto's journey, Killer Bee was introduced to us as the jinchūriki of the Eight-Tails, Gyuki. Bee's training was so harsh that he managed to gain complete control of his beast, and become a perfect jinchuriki. According to the Raikage Ay, Bee was even stronger than him, which gives one a hint of his battle prowess. His partnership with Gyuki is genuinely amazing to watch as the two fight together like partners, which is what sets them apart from the other jinchūriki. Bee's fight against the entirety of Team Taka was enough proof that he is indeed one of the strongest jinchūriki that we've seen in the series.

5 Minato Namikaze

Naruto Uzumaki's very own father, Minato, ranks on this list as well. Before his death, Minato split the nine-tails into two halves; Yin and Yang. The Yin half of Kurama was sealed within himself, while the Yang half was sealed within Naruto. When Minato was reanimated during the 4th Great Ninja War, he had already mastered the nine-tails that was sealed within him, and hence became a perfect jinchuriki as well. Even without the nine-tails, Minato was already one of the most powerful characters to ever live, which is evident from the fact that he was the 4th Hokage of the leaf.

As a jinchūriki, he was further strengthened by a significant extent to the point where he could even fight against the likes of Madara and Obito Uchiha.

4 Obito Uchiha

Obito Uchiha started the 4th Great Ninja War with the aim of becoming the jinchūriki of the ten-tails and cast Infinite Tsukuyomi on the entire world. It is safe to say that he partially succeeded at this task, as by the end of the war, Obito had become the jinchūriki of the ten-tails. It isn't too difficult to imagine that Obito was the strongest character in the series at this point. He was able to take on the entire shinobi alliance by himself, and even Hashirama openly exclaimed that Obito was stronger than him. Ultimately, he did lose to the alliance, but the only reason for it is that a part of him wanted to put his faith in Naruto and his ideals.

3 Madara Uchiha

After Obito Uchiha, the next jinchūriki of the ten-tails was Madara Uchiha. When compared to Obito, Madara was significantly stronger. He was capable of regenerating from any injury, and he even possessed the strongest of all Jutsu, the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Madara's power could only be matched when Naruto and Sasuke were amped by the Sage of Six Paths himself. As the ten-tails jinchūriki, Madara's skills were beyond what the shinobi world had ever seen. He was truly a force to be reckoned with, and to date, the fans are mad at Kishimoto for turning him into a vessel for Kaguya Otsutsuki.

2 Naruto Uzumaki

Naruto Uzumaki was made into a jinchūriki by his father just moments after he was born. The Yang half of Kurama was sealed into him, and it took Naruto several years to become its perfect jinchūriki. After the 4th Great Ninja War, Naruto even gained the other half of the nine-tails, which made him even stronger than before. That's not all! He also earned a piece of chakra of all the Tailed Beasts, essentially making him a pseudo-ten-tails jinchūriki. By the end of the war, Naruto was strong enough to fight characters like Kaguya on his own. His skills have only improved over the years in Boruto.

1 Hagoromo Otsutsuki

Hagoromo Otsutsuki is arguably the strongest character in the entire Naruto series. He was the son of Kaguya Otsutsuki and was thus born with super-human abilities. His powers were such that even when he wasn't a jinchūriki, he was able to seal away Kaguya Otsutsuki with the help of his brother. After this colossal fight that lasted over two months, Hagoromo Otsutsuki made himself the jinchūriki of the ten-tails, which further strengthened him to an unparalleled degree. He reigns supreme as the strongest jinchūriki in the entirety of the Naruto series.
