One of the best things about the Naruto series is that fans of this famous ninja anime are quite literally given the chance to grow up alongside the characters of the show/manga. Fans watch each character go from child to adult and are able to see where exactly they end up in the new sequel series Boruto.

One of those characters fans have been alongside since day one is Sakura Haruno, one of the members of the now Hokage, Naruto's original squad. Sakura has been through a lot of wardrobe changes since this original appearance. Here we take a look at her best and worst looks.

10 LOVED: THE ORIGINAL

How can anyone not like Sakura's original outfit? This costume is the first we ever see the character in and it truly fits just about every aspect of her character. It reflects not only her name but also the fiery but sweet nature of her personality.

Not to mention that the nostalgia that is now attached to this outfit is able to win just about any longtime fan over. This was also when Sakura used to rock the long-haired look which, after so long, now appears so foreign on her.

9 HATED: WINTER MOVIE OUTFIT

The winter movie outfit that Sakura wears in the movie Naruto: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow is one of the least appealing that she dons throughout her entire time on the series. While this outfit is basically the original with a few changes made to it, those changes don't really do her any favors or add anything appealing to the already tried and true look.

The outfit does look cool at certain points due to the cloak but once she removes said cloak, you've got a rather odd-looking ensemble. Blame the sleeves.

8 LOVED: SHIPPUDEN

Unlike her outfit in the Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow film, Sakura's new outfit from the Naruto sequel series Naruto Shippuden actually knows how to make additions and changes and have them look appealing. This new outfit that Sakura wears is very similar to her original but with a few changes that give it a more mature appearance.

Goodbye to the childish dress-like piece of her old outfit and hello to a skirt-like piece accompanied by her classic spats. The changes match the growth of the character perfectly.

7 HATED: SUMMER MOVIE

The summer outfit from the movie Naruto the Movie: Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom is yet another outfit that tried to make small changes to the original in an attempt to create something all new and original for a one-off film. It is also yet another one of these outfits that fell flat due to messing with an existing formula in the wrong way.

This outfit is simply Sakura's original fit but with a midriff cut into it to compensate for the "summer" theme of the movie. It just looks bad on this outfit.

6 LOVED: THE LAST - CASUAL OUTFIT

The last Naruto film that starred the original cast that fans knew and loved was The Last: Naruto the Movie. A film that wanted to focus on the group's final days of being young adults. This, of course, meant a lot of looking at casual lives and romance featuring the cast.

The casual focus ensured that there would be a lot of casual outfits featured in the film and one that was shown was Sakura's. This outfit suited her perfectly and truly showed how mature she'd finally grown to be.

5 HATED: STORM REVOLUTION - SUMMER OUTFIT

The alternate outfit given to Sakura in the Naruto fighting game Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution is one of the most absolutely ugly outfits she is ever seen in. There is just something about this outfit that just doesn't work on the character and it completely fails as an alternate outfit for her.

The most ironic part is that this outfit was paid downloadable content. The question is who exactly would buy this? Certainly not us.

4 LOVED: BORUTO OUTFIT

Sakura preparing for a fight in Boruto

The outfit that Sakura is seen wearing throughout the new ongoing sequel to the story of Naruto, Boruto, feels like the perfect conclusion outfit. It's Sakura old tried and true but a more mature take on it with very minimal changes.

However, while the outfit is very reminiscent of her old fits the additions made it jump out enough to make them actually appealing. Much like her casual outfit from The Last, this outfit really gives her a more mature appearance.

3 HATED: SCHOOL UNIFORM

The videogame Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 features Sakura wearing a basic Japanese school uniform, a type of outfit that is never seen in the actual Naruto series which really makes it stand out.

The thing about this alternate outfit is that it stands out in a very bad way. Being the basic tried and true school outfit with the most basic colors possible really just drops this outfit very far down the scale.

2 LOVED: SHINOBI WAR

The outfit that Sakura wears during the Shinobi arc quickly became one of her most popular and iconic in the entirety of the series. Not only does she just look like a total badass but this outfit is very symbolic of Sakura fully coming into her own and joining in on the battle of a lifetime.

She is seen in this outfit many times throughout Shippuden but the fact that many fans refer to it as her "Shinobi War" outfit really says something big about the impact that it had on a visual level in the series.

1 HATED: ULTIMATE NINJA STORM - WARRIOR

It's not hard to notice that the alternate costumes that Sakura is given in videogames are on the weaker side of things and the warrior outfit from Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is no different. This warrior outfit not only doesn't fit Sakura at all but it is also just an outfit that is doing entirely too much

Throughout the series, fans found that the winning formula for Sakura outfits is sweet and simple and this warrior outfit really just ain't it. Without the armored pieces, this could honestly work on her but as it is now? Just say no.
