Sakura, the pink-haired kunoichi of Konohagakure, played an important role in Naruto's journey to becoming Hokage. She became one of Naruto's first and closest allies throughout the series, and she put her utmost faith in him time after time. Without her support, who knows what would've happened to our favorite knucklehead ninja.

While Sakura played her role well in the original Naruto series, it would be interesting to see her in her own spin-off where she's the title character. The big question, however, is whether or not Sakura Haruno actually deserves her very own series because there are definitely some pros and cons to consider.

10 Deserves: Her Untold Backstory

Because the world of Naruto is so large and expansive, it is enriched in the history of the villages, clans, and shinobi. We've learned hidden secrets of the past, such as Naruto's fateful birth and the tragedy of the Uchiha Clan, but there is not much that the main story shared with us about Sakura's clan and upbringing.

Besides her friendship with Ino and the bullying she experienced in her childhood, there are many aspects of Sakura's past that could finally be brought to light with a spin-off. It would be interesting to learn more about the Haruno Clan as well as her relationship with her family.

9 Doesn't: Other Character Might Have More Interesting Spin-Offs

With an endless supply of shinobi in the Naruto universe, there are many other characters who would be deserving of their very own spin-off series. Perhaps some of these characters would provide a more intriguing spin-off story than Sakura herself.

In fact, Rock Lee already has his own chibi spin-off series, Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals. This just goes to show that Lee was popular enough for fans to want to see more of him than the main series showed. Similarly, other popular characters like Kakashi or Gaara might be prioritized over Sakura for a spin-off.

8 Deserves: She Can Bring Back Inner Sakura

One of Sakura's most unique features was Inner Sakura, the aggressive and unfiltered voice inside her head. While Sakura would often use Inner Sakura to voice her true thoughts and feelings early on in the series, she eventually grew out of needing that outlet.

If Sakura were to have a lighthearted spin-off, it would be a great opportunity for Inner Sakura to make a grand comeback. Inner Sakura's plethora of emotions and burning passion would definitely add a lot of fun and entertainment to casual conversations with her everyday ninja peers.

7 Doesn't: She's Past Her Prime

Sarada Is A Talented Medical-Ninja

Sakura was no doubt a worthy ninja as demonstrated in her efforts during the Fourth Shinobi War. However, as time went on, she matured, started a family, and found work at a hospital beyond life as a shinobi. In this time, the focus shifted from the old generation of Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura to the new generation with Boruto and Sarada.

Because Boruto, Naruto's son, got his own spin-off, it would make more sense if another potential spin-off focused on one of Boruto's peers instead of Naruto's. For that reason, Sarada, Sakura's daughter, might be more likely to get a spin-off than Sakura at this point.

6 Deserves: She Can Explore Relationships With Other Ninjas

Ino Yamanaka (Left) and Sakura Haruno (Right) in Naruto: Shippuden

Throughout the main Naruto series, Sakura's main interactions and relationships were most developed with Naruto, Sasuke, and Kakashi, due to them all being a part of Team Seven. While she did interact with other peers like Ino and Lee, those bonds were not shown as frequently.

That would certainly not be the case in a Sakura spin-off. The spin-off would allow Sakura to showcase more of her relationships outside of Team Seven. She could further pursue her friendly rivalry with Ino and perhaps build new bonds with acquaintances from the Konoha 11.

5 Doesn't: She Was Already A Main Character

Although Naruto was the title character of the entire franchise, Sakura still had a major role in the series. She made her contributions as one of Naruto's closest friends and was there to assist in taking down the war's final enemies, Madara and Kaguya.

Because Sakura already had a decent amount of screentime, she might not be someone who is desperately in need of her own spin-off. Meanwhile, supporting characters with smaller roles but a lot of potential, like Ino or Sai, could use a spin-off for more screentime that Sakura already had.

4 Deserves: Her Teammates Stole The Spotlight

Despite Sakura's role as one of the main characters, she still tended to fall behind her Team Seven comrades, Naruto, Sasuke, and Kakashi. It definitely was not her fault that the rest of her team was either naturally talented from birth or gifted newfound powers from an outside source.

While Naruto and Sasuke were blessed with power from the Sage of Six Paths and Kakashi had his Mangekyo Sharingan from Obito, Sakura was just out there doing her best to keep up. She could really use a spin-off where her team isn't too overpowered.

3 Doesn't: She's Overshadowed By Others

Sakura and Tsunade use strength of 100 seal

In addition to her teammates blocking her path to glory, Sakura also has a more difficult time standing out amongst the rest of the ninja cast. This could be due to the overlap between her and other characters in terms of skills and attributes.

As Tsunade's former disciple, she naturally learned and utilized the same techniques, such as medical ninjutsu and the Strength of a Hundred Seal. In addition, one of Sakura's biggest strengths, her intelligence, is often overshadowed by the likes of Shikamaru and the Nara Clan. A spin-off would require a main character who is unique enough to stand out and above the rest.

2 Deserves: She Can Play To Her Strengths

Two of Sakura's greatest assets are her incredible medical ninjutsu abilities and intelligence. And although she shares these assets with other skilled ninjas, a spin-off would give her the opportunity to really show off her fullest potential.

To show off her skills as a medic ninja, her spin-off could take place in the village's hospital for a shinobi spoof of classic medical dramas like Grey's Anatomy. Alternatively, she could let her brainpower shine in a spin-off filled with riddles, puzzles, or mysteries. Both spin-off ideas would be interesting to see.

1 Doesn't: Her Ultimate Goal Was Already Achieved

Sarada, Sasuke, and Sakura have a family dinner in Boruto

Sakura spent the first half of the series trying to win over Sasuke's heart, while the second half was spent trying to rescue him from the dark path he was on. By the end of the series, she had finally achieved both. After much struggle, Sasuke returned to the good side and eventually started a family with Sakura.

Sakura ultimately got the happy ending she so desired, which is great for her. At the same time, this leaves less room and potential for a side story as her biggest dreams were already fulfilled.
