Naruto is considered a classic anime with popularity and success all around the world. Many fans and casual watchers of anime have either watched the series in its entirety or at least know the premise of Naruto's journey to becoming Hokage.

Because so many people know the anime, Naruto can be a great source for pick-up line material. Unlike traditional pick-up lines, anime pick-up lines can only work if the person on the receiving end can understand the reference, or else it'll flop. Thankfully, Naruto is filled with enough iconic characters and scenes to create the most hilarious and cringy pick-up lines that any fan could appreciate.

Updated on September 9th, 2020 by Josh Davison: Almost everyone wants to be loved, and this almost seems to be more true in the world of Naruto than in the real world. The romantic inclinations and interests of just about every main and side character are explored to a degree, and it seems to take all of them a very long time to even begin to grapple with those emotions. Maybe that's why it seems so natural and easy to translate Naruto references into cheesy and probably doomed-to-fail pickup lines that we all nonetheless want to try out. With that in mind, it seems prudent to add another five funny Naruto pickup lines to this list.

15 "Are You A Susano'o? Because I'm Completely Enveloped By You."

Shisui using Susano'o from Naruto

This one will probably just get you some weird looks in civilized society, but it's still worth giving a try. For the uninitiated, a Susano'o is a jutsu available to those with a Mangekyo Sharingan eye. It's a vast flaming warrior that serves as a protection and extension of the user. It's exceedingly difficult to master, and some users only can manifest partial Susano'o.

That last part wasn't relevant to the discussion of course, because by calling someone a Susano'o, you're calling them an epic flaming guardian. Isn't that how we all want to be considered?

14 "Is Your Name Danzo? Because You've Caught My Eye."

This one is sort of a reverse on one of the initial entries on this list that referenced Danzo and his many Sharingan eyes. However, instead of complimenting the eyes of your crush by threatening to steal one, you can offer one of your own instead. See?

Again, for the uninitiated, Danzo stole the eyes of several Uchiha Clan members and implanted them into his body in one of his eye sockets and several across his arm. Doesn't your crush want arm-eyes? If not, you should probably seek affection elsewhere.

13 "Let's Reignite Our Power Of Youth!"

Guy and lee crying

This one is evergreen and not just because it was proclaimed by the Green Beast of the Leaf. You can really just say this anywhere, anytime, and with anyone. We should all aspire to preserve and/or reignite our power of youth.

However, when you say this with someone you have a crush on, you two can make a pact to live adventurously and do all things with great energy. Go hiking! Travel! Spar with martial arts at full intensity!

12 "Just Call Me Shikamaru Because I Want To Stick To You Like A Shadow"

This one should be deployed with care and precision because it also just kind of sounds like stalking. Shikamaru Nara and his clan have the ability to manipulate the shadows and use them as an extension of their will.

By proclaiming to be Shikamaru, you are promising not only to stick by your crush but to do anything they ask of you. You need someone who understands the context because, again, it sounds a little like stalking.

11 "Are You Kankuro? Because I Wanna Be Your Love Puppet."

Kankuro Shippuden

This one should also be deployed with care and precision because it might get you thrown out of many polite establishments and probably for good reason. Kankuro is a shinobi from the Hidden Sand Village who can control wooden weaponized puppets with chakra threads that are connected to his fingertips.

Now, none of these puppets were intended for affection (well, except arguably for Sasori's puppets of his parents that he would use to embrace himself). However, you can promise to be a love puppet for the subject of your affection, and they will hopefully understand what you mean by that.

10 "Are You Temari? Because I'm Your Biggest Fan."

As one of the Sand Siblings from the Land of Wind, Temari is most known for her powerful Wind Scythe Technique created with the help of her trust giant fan. Around the size of herself, the fan is decorated with three purple circles, which control the strength of her attacks.

With her fan being such a key part of her character, the pick-up line, "Are You Temari? Because I'm Your Biggest Fan," works perfectly. Not only does Temari possess the biggest fan in the anime, but it's also just nice to know you have someone who supports you.

9 "I'm No Obito, But Even A Boulder Can't Crush My Love For You."

Back in the Third Shinobi War, Obito was considered a hero who never turned back on his allies. He scolded Kakashi for prioritizing their mission and abandoning their teammate, Rin, and ultimately taught Kakashi to protect his comrades at all costs.

Ironically, while rescuing Rin, a giant boulder fell on top of Obito and crushed half his body in the process. Despite what would appear to be Obito's death, he not only survived the incident but also held onto his love for Rin. Like Obito, we should all strive for a love that is stronger than a boulder.

8 "I Know The Quickest Way To Your Heart. Chidori."

Kakashi kills Rin

After Obito's apparent death beneath the boulder, Kakashi promised to protect Rin, though that promise would quickly be broken. Later in the Third Shinobi War, Rin realized she was a major threat to the safety of Konohagakure due to the tailed beast inside her, so she asked Kakashi to kill her.

Although Kakashi swore to always protect Rin, he found himself driving a Chidori through his teammate's body. As Rin continued to love him until the bitter end, Kakashi unintentionally became a literal ladykiller, proving that Chidori is the quickest way to anyone's heart.

7 "Am I Trapped In The Infinite Tsukuyomi? Because You're Everything I've Dreamt Of."

Madara activating Infinite Tsukuyomi in Naruto.

Madara's ultimate goal in the Fourth Shinobi War was to cast the Infinite Tsukuyomi, which trapped its victims in their own individual dreams with their deepest desires. Even though it didn't last long, the Uchiha eventually achieved his dream by trapping people into their own.

During that time, we got to see into the dreams of characters like Hinata, Rock Lee, and Ino. Each of those Infinite Tsukuyomi dreams centered around romance and winning over someone's heart, which is also the exact intention of pick-up lines such as this one.

6 "Are You Hashirama? Because Everyone Wants A Piece Of You."

Hashirama in Sage Mode in Naruto.

Hashirama was the well-respected First Hokage and founder of Konohagakure, often hailed as one of the strongest shinobi to ever exist. He was so powerful that his cells were very valuable in science experiments and artificial enhancements to create stronger ninja.

For example, after getting ahold of Hashirama's valuable cells, Orochimaru conducted experiments on ninja like Yamato, who then gained access to the rare Wood Release. Other ninja who obtained Hashirama's cells included Madara, Zetsu, and Danzo. Any comparison to Hashirama's cells is a compliment of how powerful and desired you are.

5 "Sharingan Is Red, Rasengan Is Blue, Give Me Your Number Or I'll Chidori You."

Naruto uses his Rasengan against Sasuke's Chidori in Naruto: Shippuden's final arc

Sometimes, it helps if a pick-up line is catchy and has a nice ring to it. Going off of the famous "roses are red, violets are blue," poem, Youtuber Jimmy Zhang made his own pick-up line with several references to Naruto"Sharingan is red, Rasengan is blue, give me your number or I'll Chidori you."

Rasengan and Sharingan are the signature techniques of Naruto and Sasuke, while the Chidori threat could be in reference to Rin's death via Kakashi's Chidori. Of course, you should never really threaten to "Chidori" someone in order to get their number, but the pick-up line was definitely catchy.

4 "I Would Start A Great Shinobi War For You."

Obito Uchiha sporting the Mangekyo Sharingan and Rinnegan during Naruto: Shippuden Fourth Shinobi War arc

People will go to great lengths for the ones they love, and the ninja of Naruto are no different. For the longest time, Obito had the biggest crush on Rin but was always too afraid to confess his feelings for her. Due to the unforeseen circumstances of the Third Shinobi War, Obito never had the chance to tell Rin how he really felt.

As it would turn out, however, Obito was a key player in starting the Fourth Shinobi War, and it had a lot to do with his love for Rin. After witnessing Rin's death, he made it his mission to create a perfect world that could only be achieved after starting another war.

3 "Are You Ino? Because You've Totally Taken Over My Mind."

Ino Yamanaka holding glowing hands with the sky in the background

The Yamanaka Clan is known for its secret techniques that involved the mind. We've seen Ino use her Mind Transfer Jutsu to invade the mind of Sakura during the Chunin Exams, as well as, communicate telepathically with the entire Shinobi Alliance with her Mind Transfer Jutsu.

Therefore, Ino can very easily conquer the minds of her enemies in a literal sense. In a more metaphorical sense, having someone"take over" your mind could mean you're always thinking about them and their well-being. The one who often pops into your mind is a testament to who you truly prioritize in your life.

2 "I'm So Entranced By Those Eyes, I Think I'll Take Them."

In the fantasy ninja world of Naruto, there are special eyes called "dojutsu" that are only passed down by certain bloodlines. The Rinnegan stems from the Sage of Six Paths, the Byakugan comes from the Hyuga Clan, and the Sharingan is from the Uchiha Clan.

Because these eyes are extremely powerful and limited only to a few clans, they are highly sought after by outsiders and even fellow clan members. For example, Danzo has a disgustingly large collection of Sharingan right on his arm, while a Rinnegan eye has been passed around between the likes of Madara and Obito.

1 "Are You Gaara? Because Love Is Written All Over Your Face."

Gaara from Naruto: Shippuden.

As a jinchuriki with the One-Tailed Beast inside of him, Gaara had a rough childhood. He not only grew up without the love of parents but also experienced the same isolation that other jinchuriki have had to face. When even his uncle turned against him, Gaara truly felt as though no one loved him.

To serve as a symbol of Gaara's struggle with love, he has the kanji for love written on his forehead like a tattoo. The pick-up line, "Are you Gaara? Because Love Is Written All Over Your Face," couldn't be more accurate.
