Quite like his father, Might Guy was born with next to no talent for performing any kind of ninjutsu or genjutsu, a rarity in the world of Naruto. Even so, Guy wanted to become a shinobi, and he did not let anything get in the way of his dreams by turning to the only style of fighting he could use - taijutsu.

Might Guy failed the entrance test to the ninja academy because of his inability to perform ninjutsu. His father motivated him to keep trying, which he did, and was soon allowed to enter the academy and become a shinobi. Guy had to face a lot of hurdles, but he kept going and training hard.

By the end, he became one of the physically strongest shinobi in the Leaf Village, even surpassing Kakashi, who was one of the most skilled ninja of the shinobi world. He proved to the world that a person who used only taijutsu could become as good of a shinobi as any.

During Orochimaru’s invasion of Konoha, Sound Village ninja used genjutsu to put the audience of the Chunin Exams to sleep. Kakashi and Guy were among the few who could release the jutsu and, together, they took on several Sound shinobi who had attacked the place.

Guy used his taijutsu skills to fight off several ninja at once while defending the area, while Kakashi instructed his students to go after Sasuke. Guy also used his taijutsu again to kick a giant hole in the wall so that the young genin could escape without trouble.

When Itachi and Kisame visited the Hidden Leaf Village, they were confronted by Kakashi, Asuma, and Kurenai. Itachi put Kakashi under a genjutsu, which drained him of all his energy.

Kisame took this opportunity to rush toward Kakashi and attack him using his Shark blade. Guy intervened just in time and kicked Kisame away using his Severe Leaf Hurricane Technique. Kisame wanted to fight Guy, but Itachi warned him to “not underestimate that man.” It's impressive that Guy's taijutsu earned him a reputation and praise from the likes of Itachi.

Guy fought himself for hours, but to no avail, since his clone was as good as he was and used the same moves and countermoves that he did. Rock Lee figured out that to defeat their clones, they had to become better and stronger than they were at the time the clones were made. Guy immediately stepped up his game and defeated his clone not too long after.

During the Fourth Shinobi War, Kabuto had reanimated the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, and Kakashi’s division was assigned to fight them off. When Kakashi appeared to be having a hard time fighting two ninja alone, Might Guy arrived to help him.

Together, they fought these shinobi until they were finally sealed away. As always, Guy used taijutsu to fight and came out victorious in the end.

5 When He Used The Morning Peacock Technique Against Kisame

On their way to rescue Gaara from the Akatsuki, Team Guy was confronted by Kisame Hoshigaki, who wanted to stop them from moving forward. Neji, Tenten, and Rock Lee’s initial attempts at stopping him failed, and Kisame locked them up in water prisons.

Guy was the only one left to fight him and save his students. He used his Morning Peacock Technique, which was a taijutsu move powered by the Eight Gates’ Release. With this move, Guy dealt a series of punches that were so fast and powerful that they caught fire mid-air. In every fight, Guy pulled out a new taijutsu move and showcased just how diverse this fighting style was.

4 When He & Lee Took Down An Entire Castle With Their Eight Gates Release

guy and lee's power breaks down castle

During one of his missions, Guy was tricked by one of the Three Ryudoin Brothers who wanted to avenge the death of his father. He, along with his brothers, locked up Guy and Lee inside a castle and made them fight each other by making them both think that each of them was fighting a dummy.

However, they were both too smart to fall for this plan and once they figured out each other’s identities via Morse code, they opened the Fifth Gate of Limit and released so much power that it caused the entire castle to collapse, allowing them to break out. This proved just how much power two taijutsu users could possess, even without ninjutsu.

3 When He Fought Kisame By Himself & Defeated Him

Might Guy's Daytime Tiger attacks Kisame.

Kisame was a very difficult opponent to face in a battle since his sword, Samehada, could absorb chakra, making any sort of ninjutsu attacks against him useless.

Since Might Guy did not use ninjutsu, he went up against Kisame and attacked him with his powerful Hirudora, which took Kisame by complete surprise and caused him to fall down, unable to move. This was how Guy defeated one of the strongest Akatsuki members using only taijutsu.

2 When He Helped Save Eight-Tails From Madara’s Susanoo

During the Fourth Shinobi War, Madara restrained the Eight-Tails with Hashirama’s wood-style jutsu, and by using his Susanoo’s sword, he would have stabbed him if not for Naruto in his Kurama Chakra form, who intervened and stopped the sword mid-air.

Might Guy, who stood on the Eight-Tails’ head, attacked the Susanoo using his Hirudora and broke the Susanoo. This caused the wood restraining the Eight-Tails to weaken, allowing him to break free from its hold.

guy opens the eighth gate of death

After a long-drawn battle with Madara, the heroes finally came to realize that ninjutsu would not work on him. Might Guy decided to fight him using taijutsu, the only type of fighting style that would work on the Uchiha (apart from senjutsu).

Guy gave it his all during the fight and used the Eight Inner Gates Formation to open the Eighth Gate of Death. He dealt Madara with such powerful blows that he cracked the villain's ribs and almost killed him. Even Madara declared Guy to be the strongest taijutsu user he had ever fought. Not even Minato had the capability to fight Madara the way Guy did with his taijutsu prowess.
