Kurama, also known as the Nine-Tails, was one of the nine Tailed Beasts in the Naruto and Boruto series. Created by Hagoromo Otsutsuki by splitting the Ten-Tails chakra, Kurama was the most notable Tailed Beast throughout the series. Among the nine Tailed Beasts, he was by far the strongest of the lot.
Over the years, Kurama has had four different Jinchuriki. However, only Naruto Uzumaki has managed to create a great bond with it. Together, the two have saved the day on countless occasions, with Kurama playing a major role in most of the instances.
10 Kurama Stepped In When Naruto Was About To Lose To Neji Hyuga
Naruto's fight against Neji in the Chunin Exams was quite an interesting one, and even though Naruto was weaker than Neji initially, Naruto managed to prevail, all thanks to the chakra of Kurama. After having his Tenketsu hit, Naruto was unable to use his own chakra, but Kurama helped him by giving him the power to fight again and take Neji by surprise. The battle ended in Naruto's favor because of Kurama.
9 Kurama Helped When Naruto Took On Deep Forest Emergence
Naruto was met by the reanimated Madara Uchiha early in the Fourth Great Ninja War, and Madara tested the Deep Forest Emergence Jutsu on him. Undoubtedly, the power this skill carried was enough to overpower Naruto, along with all the other members of the shinobi alliance behind him. However, Kurama supplied Naruto with enough chakra to counter Madara and protect everyone.
8 Kurama Overpowered Five Tailed Beasts At Once
Towards the climax of Naruto's fight against Obito Uchiha, the latter used the power of the Tailed Beasts which Naruto struggled to deal with. Even with Kakashi and Guy at his side, five Tailed Beasts were too much for them to handle. Thankfully, Kurama and Naruto bonded around this time, and a glimpse of their power was immediately shown to the fans. Naruto gained enough power to take on all five of the Tailed Beasts at once and overpower every single one of them.
7 Kurama Helped Protect The Entire Shinobi Alliance
As the Jinchuriki of Kurama, Naruto gained complete control over its powers toward the end of the Fourth Great Ninja War. When he did, the two managed to save the entire shinobi alliance together by giving their chakra to them.
Every single member of the alliance received a chakra cloak that made them stronger and helped them defend themselves against Madara and the Ten-Tails' assault.
6 Kurama Helped Save Naruto From Madara
After Obito's fall, Madara started collecting the Tailed Beasts on his own and acquired all of them, even stripping Naruto and Bee of their Tailed Beasts. Without Kurama, Naruto would certainly have died there as it was he who directed Gaara on what to do next. If Kurama hadn't passed the all-important message to Gaara, Naruto would've died, and the Shinobi Alliance would've fallen right there.
5 Kurama Gave Naruto The Power To Fight Kaguya
Kaguya Otsutsuki was the strongest of all characters in the Naruto series, and her powers far surpassed both Naruto and Sasuke's. Despite that, it was Kurama who helped Naruto in the fight by giving him ways to counter Kaguya's abilities. When needed, Kurama supplied his chakra and even helped Naruto overpower her in battle in certain moments. Without Kurama's chakra, Naruto wouldn't have lasted as long as he did against Kaguya and would most likely have died long ago.
4 Kurama Stepped Up When Sasuke Stole The Tailed Beasts' Chakra
Kurama's power once again came to Naruto's aid when he fought Sasuke at the Valley of the End. Sasuke Uchiha stole the chakra of all the Tailed Beasts to gain an upper hand against Naruto. To counter Sasuke's tactics, Kurama had his own tricks.
By leaving a shadow clone, Kurama was able to amass enough Senjutsu chakra to counter Sasuke's Tailed Beast chakra. Using this power, Naruto was able to defeat Sasuke in their final fight.
3 Kurama Helped Naruto To Defeat Toneri Otsutsuki
Toneri Otsutsuki was the main antagonist of The Last: Naruto the Movie. In the final fight of the movie, Kurama was the hero once again when he supplied Naruto with the power to take down Toneri Otsutsuki. Furthermore, he also fought Toneri's Stone Golem all alone. After defeating him, he wrote a message on the surface of the moon that stopped Kumogakure from blowing it up to bits.
2 Kurama's Immense Chakra Saved Konohagakure From Momoshiki
When Momoshiki came to Konohagakure in the Naruto series, it was Kurama who stopped him from destroying the village. By using a cloak of his chakra, Kurama trapped Momoshiki's strongest attacks in their path and directed it all toward Naruto. Had it not been for Kurama's chakra, the entire village would've blown to bits, and countless innocents would've died. Once more, Kurama showed fans how much of a hero he truly was.
1 Kurama Helped Naruto Overcome Isshiki Otsutsuki
Naruto and Kurama fought their last battle together against Isshiki Otsutsuki in Boruto. Since Isshiki was much stronger than Naruto, Kurama had no choice but to put his life on the line by convincing Naruto to use Baryon Mode. With its power, Naruto was able to overpower Isshiki and reduce his lifespan to just five minutes. Once Baryon Mode ran out, Kurama ended up dying, making this his final act with Naruto.
