Naruto is easily one of the most popular shonen series of all time, serving as a gateway of sorts for the modern generation to take a glimpse into the world of anime and everything it has to offer. Naruto is definitely a great starting point, given its well-realized world, captivating story, awe-inspiring combat, and a robust cast of excellently-written characters that never fail to miss the mark.

Even the side characters of Naruto are memorable in their own unique way, with Ino being a great example of this. Her backstory with Sakura is interesting enough as is, and the manner in which she develops as a character throughout the series is deftly written in a manner that feels muted yet impactful. Her jutsu is also a rather unique aspect of her character, with the Mind Transfer Jutsu being quite useful in a whole host of situations as opposed to other jutsu. That being said, it's not like this Mind Transfer technique can't be improved upon either.

10 Suit better: Byakugan

Naruto's Neji Hyuga Byakugan Eye

Out of all the eye techniques shown on the show, one can argue that the Byakugan trailed off fairly early on in the grand scheme of things.

Perhaps things would've been slightly different if Ino had this technique as well. She certainly could've pulled it off, and her presence in the story — regardless of whether it petered off or not later on — could've certainly helped this technique feel more relevant in the latter half of the show.

9 Wouldn't be better: Sharingan

Sasuke's Sharingan in Naruto.

The idea of Ino being an Uchiha is quite jarring, and not really something that would appeal to most fans of Naruto.

So, since the Sharingan and Uchiha blood is — almost always — a mutually inclusive deal, it goes without saying that the Sharingan won't really be an apt fit for Ino either.

8 Suit better: Shadow Clone Jutsu

Shadow Clone Jutsu

Ino definitely had some major skills when it came to her hand-to-hand combat, and it's only a given that more of the same would always be a welcome thing. This is where the Shadow Clone Jutsu comes into the picture.

Not only would this be a great application in battle, but it would've certainly made the application of the jutsu throughout the series somewhat less... one-sided.

7 Wouldn't be better: Shadow Binding

Shadow Binding might be a great technique for any ninja... but for some reason, it just feels like giving this technique to Ino would lessen the importance of this move.

Part of the reason why this feels odd is certainly due to the existence of the Ino-Shika-Cho formation, with all three ninja having abilities and personalities that perfectly complement each other. Giving the Shadow Binding technique to Ino as well would break this pattern completely.

6 Suit better: Sage Mode

Naruto in sage mode

Ino wasn't really a character that got a ton of screen time as the series progressed, but perhaps that could've been altered if she'd been able to master Sage Mode.

After all, Sage Mode would've augmented her hand-to-hand combat and also allow her to get a massive powerup and do some truly amazing damage indeed.

5 Wouldn't be better: Nine-Tails Mode

Naruto in his incomplete Nine Tails Chakra Mode

That being said, the one thing that Ino is definitely not fit for is being a Jinchuriki. Naruto has pretty much established himself in that aspect, and watching Ino go through the trials and tribulations of having a Tailed Beast inside her is not something that seems feasible in the slightest.

In that sense, her Mind Transfer Jutsu is way better simply because of the peace of mind she achieved as a result.

4 Suit better: Sand Manipulation

Sand Manipulation is a pretty nifty technique, and the manner in which Gaara uses it throughout the series is certainly quite awe-inspiring indeed.

That being said, one can definitely see Ino picking up this technique and using it in her own unique manner. It would certainly be a stylistic affair indeed.

3 Wouldn't be better: Chakra Bugs

Naruto _ Shino Aburame using bugs

What is definitely not stylistic is a bunch of bugs crawling inside one's body, and only members of the Aburame clan have that distinct... honor.

Given how squeamish Ino can be at times, there's absolutely no way that she would be okay with making her body a hub for chakra bugs, regardless of how useful they might be in battle.

2 Suit better: Advanced Taijutsu

Naruto Might Guy

Ino's hand-to-hand combat has been the focal point several times throughout this list, so it's only a given that the best jutsu for her is something that people like Rock Lee and Might Guy excelled in — taijutsu.

Watching her unlock all the Nine Gates and unleash a whirlwind of pain upon her foes would definitely be a sight to behold. After all, Guy showed viewers firsthand exactly what this advanced level of taijutsu was capable of.

1 Wouldn't be better: Rasenshuriken

Naruto Jutsu rasenshuriken shadow clones

The Rasenshuriken is easily one of the most awe-inspiring techniques in Naruto, and it goes without saying that any person who mastered this jutsu would be a force to reckon with in battle.

That being said, this technique is another part of Naruto that has remained fairly consistent with his character since the early going, and watching Ino — or anybody else, for that matter — utilize this jutsu as well just feels completely and utterly wrong.
