A decade ago the anime and manga communities were dominated by three series-One Piece, Narutoand Bleach, and although each series is completely different in terms of story, lore, and abilities, they all have incredibly powerful characters. In Naruto one such character is Itachi Uchiha, who was branded a traitor when he agreed to slaughter most of his clan to stop a coup that would have destroyed his home.

The Uchiha were always a powerful clan, but Itachi was a prodigy even by their standards, and he possessed an ocular ability known as the Sharingan which made him feared throughout the ninja world. Despite his young age, Itachi was one of Naruto's strongest characters, and if he were to be placed into the Bleach universe, there are certainly some powerful individuals that he could beat, but there would also be a few that he would have no chance against.

10 Can Beat: Byakuya Kuchiki

Byakuya may have not been the strongest Captain, but he was still a powerful Soul Reaper. Aside from being a master swordsman, he is also a master at Shunpo and Kidō, which means that he is capable of moving faster than the eye can see while performing powerful spells.

The most terrifying part of Byakuya is his Bankai, which allows him to control thousands of small blades, and in its true form, it surrounds an opponent with hundreds of swords that move in a column-like array. All of these blades mean nothing to Itachi though, as his Susanoo has the Yata Mirriorーa shield that can negate any physical or spiritual attack.

9 Can't: Baraggan

Second Espada Baraggan

Baraggan may have not been the strongest Espada, but his ability is so terrifying and deadly that very few people would be able to beat him. Baraggan represents the Aspect of Death, which allows him to slow time within a specific area, but he can also rapidly accelerate the aging process of anything he touches within that area.

When he releases his Zanpakutō, his ability amplifies to the point that anything close to him ages to the point of disintegration, including projectile and close-ranged attacks. Baraggan can also use an ability called Respira which unleashes a type of miasma that ages and rots anything in contact with. This means that all of Itachi's jutsu would "die" before they even reach Baraggan, including the Amaterasu, and his Susanoo would rot away along with its shield.

8 Can Beat: Mayuri Kurotsuchi

Mayuri Kurotsuchi Bleach

Mayuri Kurotsuchi may act like a villain who doesn't care about his subordinates, but he is in fact a good guy, and he is known for defeating opponents with science, but a genius-level intellect can only go so far against a ninja as skilled as Itachi.

Itachi's ocular abilities make him a real threat, and even if Mayuri figures out to not look at him, all Itachi has to do is use Amaterasu to burn him indefinitely. If Kurotsuchi uses his Bankai to try and impale and poison Itachi, all the Uchiha has to do is use his Susanoo's Sword of Totsuka to seal the Bankai away forever.

7 Can't: Kaname Tōsen

In Naruto, viewers learned that the only real way to counter the Sharingan is to not look the wielder in the eye, but that is easier said than done. In Bleach though, there is one character who doesn't need to worry about the Sharingan's Genjustsu: Kaname Tōsen.

Tōsen is blind so he cannot get trapped by the Sharingan, and he actually counters Itachi much more than that because his Bankai creates a dome that nullifies a person's sense of sight, hearing, and smell, so all Tōsen has to do is stab Itachi through the heart in order to end the fight in one strike.

6 Can Beat: Yamamoto

Captain Yamamoto During A Captains Meeting

Genryusai Yamamoto was the Captain Commander of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads, and he held this title for over 100 years because he was by far the strongest captain, and for good reason, because his Zanpakutō was the most powerful of all the offensive based swords.

Yamamoto can literally burn all of Soul Society to a crisp with his Bankai, and he can raise the dead, but Itachi can trap him in a genjutsu before he even releases his Bankai, and since chakra does not exist in Bleach, he won't be able to ever break free of it.

5 Can't: Uryū Ishida

This entry is a bit tricky because under normal circumstances Itachi would be able to beat someone like Uryū by simply avoiding his Quincy arrows and potentially trapping him within his Tsukuyomi Genjustsu, but the Uryū of the Thousand-Year Blood War Arc is a completely different beast.

The reason for this is because Uryū is given a power called Antithesis-which is basically an instant kill when executed at the right moment. This ability allows Uryū to pick two targets (including himself), and swap whatever has happened between them. In battle, it means that Itachi could mortally wound him with Amaterasu or Susanoo, and Uryū can transfer the injuries to Itachi instead.

4 Can Beat: Kenpachi Zaraki

Kenpachi Trying To Antogonize Nnoitora

Of all the Captains Kenpachi Zaraki is the only one who actually loves fighting, to the point that he vehemently enjoys getting injured by his opponents. Itachi may be proficient with the Sharingan, but he is also great at close-quarters combat, so Kenpachi will definitely have fun fighting him.

Unfortunately, the Sharingan will annoy Kenpachi because Itachi will be able to read and evade every single one of his sword strikes, but more importantly, the aforementioned Yata Mirror will be able to block every attack, including the ones that come from Kenpachi's Bankai.

3 Can't: Yhwach

Yhwach is the father of the Quincy, but he is also the son of the Soul King, and when he absorbs his father, he basically becomes a God who has no equal. Itachi may have powerful ocular jutsu and a Susanoo equipped with a legendary sword and shield, but Yhwach possesses an ability known as The Almighty.

This ability grants Yhwach Omni-Precognition-which allows him to see anything in the future, including his own defeat, and thanks to his Future Acausality ability, he can alter the future to whatever outcome he desires. And if he sees any of Itachi's abilities once, he can use his Reactionary Power Immunity ability to ensure that he is not harmed by any of those abilities.

2 Can Beat: Ichigo Kurosaki

Ichigo from Bleach.

Ichigo is half Soul Reaper and half Quincy, but he is also capable of partially transforming into a Hollow-which explains why all of his fights have been so thrilling. The argument can be made that Ichigo is the strongest character in the series, but if he were to fight Itachi, it wouldn't be remotely close.

Itachi would be able to read all of Ichigo's movements, and thanks to his susanoo, Ichigo's famous Getsuga Tenshō will be rendered completely useless. If he uses his Hollow powers, Itachi can set him on fire with Amaterasu and wait for the inextinguishable black flames to burn him alive. Ichigo may have avoided Aizen's complete hypnosis by not looking at his sword, but Itachi can trap him in an illusion by just looking at him.

1 Can't: Aizen

Aizen Getting Ready To Fight Several Of The Other Captains

Aizen possesses immeasurable spiritual pressure, and he also happens to be immortal, so the only way that Itachi can really beat him is by sealing him away for eternity with the Totsuka Blade, but he will need to make sure that he actually hits the real Aizen.

Itachi may be able to trap someone in an illusion with Genjutsu, but Aizen's ability is complete hypnosis, as his sword's Shikai allows him to control all five of his opponent's senses, to the point that they will misinterpret someone's appearance, feel, and smell. And now that his sword no longer has a physical form, he can activate this hypnosis at any time.
