Itachi Uchiha was one of the greatest characters written by Masashi Kishimoto in the Naruto series. Born as the son of Fugaku, Itachi had great responsibility put on his shoulders right from a young age, however, his sense of duty to the village led to him wiping out his clan and then infiltrating the Akatsuki.

Itachi ultimately died at the hands of his brother, just as he wanted to, but there are lots of things he could've done in his lifetime had he not died so young.

Itachi's biggest concern in the story, other than protecting Sasuke, was the safety of Konohagakure. Everything he did, he did for his village and if he were alive, there's absolutely no denying the fact that he would be defending Konohagakure will with his life.

Itachi was a shinobi who had the wisdom of a Kage at the mere age of 7 and understood what being a shinobi truly meant better than anyone else.

Itachi progressed as a shinobi quite quickly and was only 10 when he was promoted to the rank of Chunin. He soon became a captain in the ANBU and eventually massacred his clan.

During the time of his death, Itachi was 21 years old and it's quite easy to see that he had loads of unfulfilled potential. Had his disease not ravaged him, Itachi would've continued to train and become stronger.

8 He Would Watch Over The Next Generation Of Shinobi & Teach Them What He Knew

While Itachi was never shown to be a great teacher, a man of his caliber would certainly be good enough to raise shinobi right. Members of the Uchiha clan, such as Sarada, would greatly benefit from this as she would have someone to teach her about the Sharingan all the time.

Other shinobi, such as Boruto and maybe even Mitsuki could've relied on him for knowledge of combat, or simply learn what shinobi really are from him.

7 He Could Have Become The Sixth Hokage After Tsunade Senju Instead Of Kakashi Hatake

After the Fourth Great Ninja War came to an end, Tsunade Senju was no longer the Hokage and Kakashi was entrusted with the responsibility instead. While the decision was not a wrong one, had Itachi never died, nobody deserved the title of Hokage more than him.

Itachi was both stronger and smarter than Kakashi and understood the sacrifices necessary to protect peace better than him, thus, being the perfect Hokage.

6 He Would Become A Great Advisor To Naruto Uzumaki After He Became The Seventh Hokage

Even with Itachi alive, Naruto would eventually have to become the Hokage of the village and while Itachi could simply rest during the time, fans know him not to be that person. Instead, Itachi would rather spend the time working with Naruto and advise him on various aspects.

The two didn't interact much throughout the Naruto series, but they would've formed a great bond with each other, knowing their personalities.

5 Itachi Would Have Become A Member Of The Konohagakure Council To Serve The Village

The Konoha Council exists to help the Hokage with the decisions they make, and ensure they're the right ones and that they're in the best interest of the village.

In the past, Konoha has suffered quite a lot due to bad council members such as Danzo Shimura. With Itachi, they would've flourished and truly helped the Hokage build the village that he dreamed of.

4 Itachi Uchiha Would Help Naruto Uzumaki Maintain Peace In Every Way He Possible

Itachi was known to be a pacifist. Having been exposed to war and misery at a very young age, Itachi realized how important peace was and always tried to do what he thought would bring peace.

In fact, Itachi's favorite word in the story is known to be "peace," and that is proof enough that once Naruto brought world peace, Itachi would devote his life to help him maintain that forever.

3 Itachi Uchiha Could Have Become A Jonin Leader & Served The Village

Having become a Chunin at 10, it's not surprising to know that Itachi would've become a Jonin shortly after had he stayed in the village. As a Jonin, he would've been able to serve the village in a much better way and lead Genin teams out on missions.

Itachi would've been a perfect Jonin leader and under him, students would grow up to become terrific shinobi with important values.

2 Itachi Could Have Maintained Control Over The Konoha Military Police Force

The Konohagakure Military Police Force was founded by Tobirama Senju and given to the Uchiha to control. During his time as a part of the village, Itachi spent quite a lot of time there.

Had he not died and stayed in the village, Itachi would certainly be playing an important role within the Konohagakure Military Police Force, be it directly or indirectly.

1 Itachi Would Be Working Together With Sasuke Uchiha On Various High Profile Missions

Itachi and Sasuke shared a bond that no siblings in the series did. Their love for each other was too powerful and thus they enjoyed working together, which is evident from the fact that Sasuke had fond memories of them from the past.

The two also joined forces to defeat Kabuto Yakushi in the Fourth Great Ninja War. Had Itachi lived, the two would've served together Konohagakure by going on high-profile missions together.
