On the day of his birth, Naruto lost both his parents. His father, the Fourth Hokage, sacrificed his life to seal the Nine-Tailed Beast into his newborn son. He hoped that his sacrifice would give his village protection from outside threats. He believed in his son's ability to control the Nine-Tails' power.
Unfortunately, the people of Konoha blamed Naruto for the Nine-Tails' actions. Naruto grew up being scorned by the village and never knowing why. He had no idea what happened to his parents or the sacrifice they made for the village. It took Naruto a lifetime to earn the respect and trust of those around him.
10 The Leadership Acknowledged Him First
The first group of people to really accept Naruto were the people in charge of teaching the next generation. Kakashi and the Hokage seemed to care for the boy from a young age. It was their words that helped Iruka form a relationship with Naruto.
Iruka's influence would have a profound effect on Naruto. His compassion for him would help drive Naruto forward. The Third Hokage was later seen discussing Naruto with other high-ranking Konoha ninja and would help the others accept Naruto.
9 Zabuza Was Defeated With Naruto's Help
Team 7's early missions revolved around running errands for people. At Naruto's request, the team was assigned a slightly harder mission. When the team ran up against Zabuza, they realized they were in over their heads.
Despite that, the combined efforts of Team 7 allowed them to defeat the legendary swordsman. A flashback shows Team 7 returning after the mission, the citizens of the village were seen whispering about Naruto. They expressed shock that Naruto had helped defeat the great evil, and with the early mission accomplished, Naruto took a step towards earning their trust.
8 Neji Was Defeated In The Chunin Exams
Neji was a gifted genius. Born in the Hyuga Clan, he was trained in the gentle fist fighting style and born with the Byakugan. When he was placed in a fight against Naruto, everyone expected Neji would win.
Naruto was still seen as a useless weakling, as he had never shown any particular skill for fighting. Every spectator in the stands believed Neji would easily defeat Naruto, but Naruto refused to give up. He caught everyone's attention when he managed to defeat Neji.
7 Sasuke & Sakura Were Rescued By Naruto
Gaara had decided to kill Sasuke. He quickly managed to gain the upper hand and had restrained Sakura and rendered Sasuke relatively useless. If it hadn't been for Naruto, his teammates would have surely died.
The fight would end up changing Naruto's life forever. Sasuke would have to acknowledge that Naruto was no longer the useless boy he used to be, and Naruto's speech to Gaara would forever change the other boy's life. Sakura's view of Naruto would also change. The changes of those close to Naruto show a snapshot of the changes happening in the village.
6 Tsunade Was Aided By Naruto
Naruto had made a deal with Tsunade. If he managed to master the Rasengan, she would give him her necklace. Naruto repeatedly failed to master the jutsu, but when Naruto noticed Tsunade fighting Kabuto, he rushed to help her.
Tsunade was incredibly impressed to see Naruto use the Rasengan against Orochimaru's henchmen. Naruto had managed to earn the respect of the future Hokage and Tsunade would become quite close to the young ninja, using her influence to aid him in the future.
5 The Rest Of The Konoha 11 Are Inspired By Naruto
Leading up to the Pain Arc, it is revealed that Naruto has been a positive influence on the young people of Konoha. Everyone in his age group begins working on mastering a new jutsu, having been inspired by Naruto's strict training.
Hinata is shown working with Neji and trying to master an advanced Hyuga Clan jutsu. Naruto's influence over Hinata would also inspire her to help aid him during his fight with Pain. Consequently, Hinata's efforts would help keep the village safe, insuring no villagers were killed. Naruto's greater influence was seen when Hinata risked his life to save her.
4 Nagato Was Stopped By Naruto's Actions
After Pain's attacks against Konoha, Naruto went to confront the person behind Pain. When Naruto met Nagato, he couldn't hide his anger. Nagato was the reason Jiraiya was dead and Nagato's actions had resulted in the death of many people in Konoha.
Naruto silenced his fury long enough to listen to Nagato's story. After listening and speaking with Nagato, Nagato began to regret some of the things he'd done. Nagato sacrificed his life in order to return the dead Konoha citizens to life and Naruto would be celebrated upon his return to Konoha.
3 The Allied Forces Shared Naruto's Powers
The Allied Forces were a combination of many villages. They came together to face a bigger threat. Naruto had already suffered the loss of his friend, Neji, when he came up with a greater plan. He decided to divide up his chakra and share it with his allies.
His shared chakra would help protect his allies from harm. Even though being Kurama's host had caused Naruto a lot of pain in his past, Naruto would find himself completely accepted as he aided his allies in battle. Naruto's presence increased their strength.
2 Kaguya Is Defeated By Team 7
Kaguya Otsutsuki once held the fate of the world in her hands. She had trapped most of the world's population. She wanted to consume all the world's chakra and turn the population of the world into her devoted servants.
Kakashi, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura all managed to escape Kaguya's initial trap. Naruto would work with his oldest allies to help stop Kaguya and Naruto and Sasuke would manage to defeat her. Naruto would have surely predominately earned their respect by saving the world.
1 Everyone Gets Set Free Thanks To Naruto
After Kaguya is defeated, Naruto's work isn't quite done. His friend, Sasuke, is still a great threat. Naruto is forced to fight Sasuke in one final fight. If Naruto loses, Sasuke will reshape the world.
Naruto tries one last time to reach Sasuke. After a battle, the two finally have a heart-to-heart conversation and Sasuke finally sees things Naruto's way. With Sasuke willing to work with Naruto, Naruto has finally earned the respect of everyone in the village.
