The mystery series following one of the world's most iconic child detectives, Nancy Drew, an 18-year-old graduating high school and on her way to college. However, family tragedy delays her plans, along with a series of seemingly supernatural murders, and her investigation leads her to uncover deeper secrets that might threaten everything she holds dear.

The series is being written by Noga Landau (The Magicians), Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (both from Gossip Girl, The O.C.).

The iconic series of children's novels have been adapted previously to both television and cinema. In fact, one film even came out this year: Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase, directed by Katt Shea (Poison Ivy, Stripped to Kill) and starring Sophia Lillis (IT: Chapter One) as the titular detective.

More announcements have yet to be made pertaining to Nancy Drew. It can be expected to fit in with the ever-increasing number of shows aimed at teens, taking classic characters (Archie and friends, most notably) and tossing them into adult mystery-dramas.
