MythBusters' Adam Savage doesn't just bust myths, based on his costume at 2021's New York Comic-Con.

Savage, former co-host of the long-running television series MythBusters, shared a photo of himself on Instagram in full Ghostbusters cosplay while attending New York Comic Con, which included a proton pack and Ecto goggles. Savage's mouth and nose were covered by a bright yellow face-mask below his trademark black spectacles, prompting him to caption the image, "Yup, that was me."

Savage also revealed that he would be offering autograph opportunities following his appearance on the floor. Savage is currently the editor-in-chief at Tested, where he shared a video of the complete build for the replica of his Proton Pack, which was inspired by the upcoming sequel, Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

This is not Savage's first time cosplaying at a convention. In 2016, he appeared at SiliCon as Mike Mignola's character Hellboy, which was an event organized by Savage in San Jose, California. At 2021's NYCC, however, Savage was also accompanied by Slimer, the popular mascot from the first and second Ghostbusters films, as well as the animated series, The Real Ghostbusters.

Savage co-hosted MythBusters for the Discovery Channel with fellow special-effects wizard Jamie Hyneman for 13 years, airing its first episode in 2003 and concluding in 2016. Every episode of the series saw the duo use the scientific method to test the validity of certain news stories, rumors, movie scenes, adages and, of course, myths. The MythBusters' team would then build experiments to prove whether those myths would work in reality or not and their findings would be ranked either "confirmed," "plausible" or "busted." Following the end of MythBusters, Savage was the solo host of the spinoff series MythBusters Jr. for the Science Channel in 2019.
