Unifying their efforts, Marvel's magic-centered teams are a force to be reckoned with.

10 The Knights Of Pendragon Fight For The Queen

The Knights of Pendragon were a group of individuals brought together by the mystical entity, The Green Knight. This entity placed the spirits of former knights of King Arthur's round table inside the Knights of Pendragon, empowering the group to protect Britain.

Based on Arthurian legends and British folklore, the Knights of Pendragon would come to battle various monsters and magicians, including the Faustian organization Mys-Tech. After the UK imprint ended, the group joined the collection of European superheroes led by Black Knight.

9 Salem's Seven Have Ties With Other Magic Users

The Salem Seven are the children of Nicholas Scratch, a powerful warlock who lives in New Salem, a hidden community of magic users who escaped during the Salem Witch trials. Scratch's mother, Agatha Harkness, left the town and became Franklin Richards' nanny. In anger, Nicholas forced his children to kidnap Agatha, bringing Franklin with them.

In response, The Fantastic Four traveled to New Salem and saved Franklin and Agatha from Scratch and his minions. After his death, the Salem Seven stayed in New Salem, fighting Agatha's pupil the Scarlet Witch on multiple occasions. Since then, the group has been reformed, deciding to become their hometown's protectors.

8 The Destines Are A Family Of Magical Warriors

The Destines aren't a team well known to most Marvel fans. They are all the children of an immortal knight and his wife, a magical Djinn. Born with magical abilities, the family split after a tragic accident. Some tried to stay out of the world's affairs, some wanted to become superheroes, and others tried to seize control with other groups.

The series ClanDestines would last only twelve issues, and several tie-ins featured the Destines teaming up with various heroes like the X-Men and Spider-Man. The Destines would end up appearing in the Ms. Marvel, their history changed to make them exiled Djinn wanting to return to their home world.

7 The Legion Of The Unliving Keep Coming Back

No Marvel character stays dead forever. In the case of the Legion of the Unliving, that's a fact that can be a blessing or curse. The group was originally brought together by Kang the Conqueror to battle the Avengers, but they broke free of his control. Since then, there have been many incarnations of the group of deceased heroes and villains.

A more famous incarnation of the group arose when Grim Reaper resurrected a lineup of the Avengers' fallen members. The result was similar to before, The Legion of the Unliving broke free of Reaper's control and one of them, Wonder Man, returned to the world of the living. The most recent incarnation involved vampire versions of Marvel characters sent to hunt other vampires for their master, but they were also defeated by the Avengers.

6 The Inheritors Are Out For Mystic Blood

Spider-Man has come to blows with various villains over the years. One of his strongest foes is Morlun, a long-lived vampire who drains the life of Spider Totems, beings with magical ties to the Web of Destiny. While he always loses to the Wall-Crawler, Morlun has needed help from his family to hunt the other Totems and drain their essence.

The Inheritors use their connection to the Web of Destiny to track and kill various Spider-Men across the multiverse, forcing the Web-Slingers to team up to stop them. The vampire coven had used their innate magical abilities to devour many souls before they were stopped and imprisoned.

5 The Nightstalkers Are Hunters Of The Night

Sometimes a team of professionals is needed to take care of specific problems. In the 90s, Doctor Strange feared that even more vampires would arise and try to take power. In his attempt to keep this from happening, Strange would recruit vampire hunter Blade, investigator turned vampire Hannibal King, and paranormal specialist Frank Drake as an unwilling group of occult detectives known as the Nightstalkers.

The Nightstalkers would fight various supernatural monsters and super villains while dealing with their own personal problems. They would later become part of the Midnight Sons, forcing the divided group to split even further apart. The Nightstalkers would disband after King and Drake were believed dead after their final battle with the vampire lord Varnae.

4 The Legion Of Monsters Frightens The Competition

When it comes to horror, Marvel has their own versions of several famous horror icons, such as Werewolf by Night and Man Thing. Marvel would bring together a handful of these monsters to become the terrifying Legion of Monsters, only brought together to fight against other cryptic adversaries.

With a notable roster, Legion of Monsters has fought other supernatural entities in order to protect humankind, even when they're still persecuted by the humans they protect. The Legion of Monsters has since remained in the shadows, their last adventure forcing the group to protect innocent monsters from occult monster hunters.

3 Strange Academy Showcases The Next Generation

When readers combine the school aspects of X-Men with the magical adventures of Harry Potter, they get Marvel's recent lineup of young spell casters from Strange Academy. The series focuses on a brand-new group of teens with magical properties being trained by several of Marvel's fan favorite warlocks and witches.

Strange Academy's well diverse cast of characters come from various parts of the Marvel mythos, their unique upbringing forcing the group to work past their differences to fight evil and get term papers in. The series' core premise isn't a new concept, yet it feels like a breath of fresh air, especially for non-superhero comic readers.

2 The Hand Are An Organized Group Of Occult Ninjas

The Hand has been a long time threat to the Marvel Universe. The ninja order was created in the 800s to help those in need. However, the clan was usurped by a rival group, who introduced them to the studies of black magic.

It's through these practices that the Hand has persisted, cheating death and causing havoc throughout the centuries. Even some of their agents possess various magical talents that serve them well as mercenaries for hire. However, thanks to the likes of Daredevil and Elektra, their plans to take over the world have failed, forcing the Hand back into the shadows.

1 The Midnight Sons Are Mystic Avengers

Groups like the Avengers prove fans enjoy it when favorite characters team up to face enormous challenges. In the magical world, no group has the level of star power that the mysterious Midnight Sons boast. The team, originally call the Nine, first joined forces to battle the demon queen Lilith and comprised various heroes like Ghost Rider and Morbius.

Unfortunately, after the Midnight Sons defeated Lilith, they soon went their separate ways. Since then, the name has now been tied to other groups of magical users forced to team up to battle mystic threats. While not as popular as other groups, the Midnight Sons still have a presence in the Marvel universe, recently getting their own video game.
