A new season of the revival of Mystery Science Theater 3000 will come to Netflix on the most appropriate day possible: Nov. 22, Thanksgiving, which has become the traditional date for MST3K marathons, premieres and announcements.
Creator Joel Hodgson spoke about the show's connection to Thanksgiving with The AV Club, explaining, "Thirty years ago on Thanksgiving Day 1988 is when we premiered Mystery Science Theater 3000 in the Minneapolis market...We were competing with 60 Minutes for the same time slot, and I think history has shown which is the better show.”
What can audiences expect from Season 12 when they move from turkey dinner to television? “I think the movies are even worse than last season, but I know the show is better,” Hodgson. said “I could be mixing those two up.”
Felicia Day, who plays the evil Kinga on MST3K, added, “The movies are deliciously bad and I get to torture my cast mates in new and innovative ways. I love my job!”
Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Return stars Felicia Day as Kinga Forrester, Jonah Ray as Jonah Heston, Patton Oswalt as Max (TV’s Son of TV’s Frank), with Crow and Tom Servo voiced by Hampton Yount and Baron Vaughn, respectively.
