The cast of Catherine Hardwicke's gothic-horror reimagining of Little Red Riding Hood is rapidly filling out as Warner Bros. this week snatched up Shiloh Fernandez and Max Irons for The Girl With the Red Riding Hood.

They'll play the Edward and Jacob to Amanda Seyfried's Bella. Okay, may not exactly -- but they do form the film's love triangle. Seyfried (Big Love, Mamma Mia!) stars as a woman in a medieval village terrorized by a werewolf. Irons (son of Jeremy Irons, and co-star of Dorian Gray) portrays the son of a blacksmith to whom Seyfried's character is pledged to marry, while Fernandez (Jericho, United States of Tara) is the orphaned woodcutter with whom she falls in love.

It's all sounding more than a little Twilight-esque, isn't it? (Having Hardwicke's name attached does much to narrow the distance between the medieval village and Forks, Washington.)

However, there's some potentially promising news! Heat Vision reports that Julie Christie and Gary Oldman are in talks for key roles: Christie as Seyfried's knitting grandmother, and Oldman as Father Solomon, the Witchfinder General tasked with finding and killing the werewolf.

I'll go out on a limb and bet a dollar -- a silver one, naturally -- that either Fernandez or Irons turns out to be the werewolf in question.
