The MCU introduced one of cinema's greatest villains in recent history -- Thanos, the mad Titan. He isn't just a powerful fighter, he is also a surprisingly complex person who actually has his good side, including his desire to see the universe restore its balance and his genuine compassion for his adopted daughter Gamora.

Thanos is also a team player, and he often sends his trusted minions to hunt down the six Infinity Stones or capture his enemies for interrogation. He wants to hire a few more minions to take on the Avengers, and this time, he will recruit some villains from the My Hero Academia universe, who have Quirks that can rival any Avenger's superpowers. Who will Thanos recruit to join his cause?

10 THANOS WOULD RECRUIT: Tomura Shigaraki Has Serious Firepower

The villain Shigaraki awakening a new power in My Hero Academia

While Nick Fury would hire My Hero Academia characters for their strength and teamwork, Thanos would hire villains based almost entirely on their strength and ruthlessness. Thanos will start with Tomura Shigaraki, who has gained enormous power in recent episodes.

Tomura's Decay Quirk got a major upgrade, being able to affect items or people nearby without even having to touch them, and he is about to gain even more Quirks from Dr. Garaki's lab experiments. Thanos would definitely send Tomura to scour the universe for Infinity Stones and expect good results from him.

9 THANOS WOULDN'T RECRUIT: Mustard's Quirk Is Too Awkward

Thanos can afford to be picky about which villains he recruits to his team, and some second-rate villains simply won't make the cut, even if they beg Thanos to hire them. Mustard, for example, is a young villain who is fairly effective against U.A. students, but he can't handle the Avengers.

Mustard's Gas Quirk can flood the battlefield with poison gas, but he might catch his allies with it too, and powerful enemies such as the robotic Vision or Iron Man could dispatch him with ease before the gas affected them.

8 THANOS WOULD RECRUIT: Muscular Is A Fine Brawler

Thanos' minions have a variety of powers and weapons at their disposal, and sometimes, bare fists are all it takes to challenge an Avenger or the Guardians of the Galaxy. Thanos would be impressed if Muscular the villain approached him, asking for a job.

Muscular is a ruthless and bloodthirsty thug, and that's the kind of villain Thanos wants by his side. Muscular would happily scour the galaxy hunting the Infinity Stones, and he could crush anyone who got in his way with his massive strength and formidable defenses. Avengers, beware.

7 THANOS WOULDN'T RECRUIT: All For One & Thanos Would Fight Over Leadership

All For One Using A Stolen Quirk

In terms of sheer firepower, the villainous All For One is the ideal recruit for Thanos, and All For One could easily take on a handful of Avengers or the Guardians of the Galaxy and possibly win. But the problem is that All For One is an archvillain boss, just like Thanos.

All For One and Thanos each aim to remake the world in their own image, and they are used to giving orders, not receiving them. If they met, each would refuse to submit to the other, and they might come to blows over it. It's best if they avoid each other.

6 THANOS WOULD RECRUIT: Himiko Toga's Shapeshifting Is Useful

Himiko smiles enthusiastically in My Hero Academia.

Thanos wouldn't like Himiko's goofy yandere personality that much, but he could put up with that if it meant getting access to Himiko's Transform Quirk. Himiko can consume someone's blood to fuel her Quirk, and then she can morph into that person as the perfect disguise.

Even Thanos wants to be subtle sometimes, and tracking down the Infinity Stones or sabotaging Earth's defenses would be much easier if Himiko could wander around looking like Captain America or Nick Fury and wreak havoc before Thanos' ship arrives. Loki the mad god already proved how effective shapeshifting can be against the Avengers, after all.

5 THANOS WOULDN'T RECRUIT: La Brava's Quirk Is Irrelevant

la brava filming with her phone on a rooftop form my hero academia.

The villain La Brava was a disaffected shut-in until she met her personal hero, the petty villain Gentle Criminal, and she became his assistant and #1 fan. La Brava isn't much of a fighter -- instead, she uses her Love Quirk to temporarily boost the power of anyone whom she adores on a personal level.

La Brava can greatly power up Gentle Criminal thanks to the power of her genuine love, but this wouldn't work on Thanos' minions at all. She would never love scary aliens like them, and Thanos would see no use for La Brava's talents.

4 THANOS WOULD RECRUIT: Dabi Has Blistering Flames

Dabi releases Blue Flames in My Hero Academia

Dabi is one of the strongest members of the League of Villains, and he's an example of someone who relies almost entirely on their Quirk to get the job done. Dabi's physical prowess is limited, but then again, his Cremation Quirk can vaporize his enemies with blistering flames, and that more than makes up for it.

Dabi's flames are hot, but he has a cool and rational mind, and that's just what Thanos needs. Dabi would gladly join Thanos and help him hunt those Infinity Stones, and anyone who got in his way would be reduced to ashes.

3 THANOS WOULDN'T RECRUIT: Innsmouth Isn't That Strong

Innsmouth is a petty criminal with power.

Innsmouth was a petty villain who appeared during a filler episode, and he clashed with Tsuyu Asui the frog hero and Selkie the Pro Hero before succumbing. Innsmouth has some leadership skills and is quite greedy, and he is also rather underhanded at times.

Innsmouth isn't nearly powerful enough, even with his octopus-themed Quirk. He is also clearly used to being in charge, and he wouldn't like having to follow Thanos' orders. He would be reluctant to hunt for the Infinity Stones if he can't keep them for himself.

2 THANOS WOULD RECRUIT: Kurogiri Can Use His Portals In Many Ways

Kurogiri in My Hero Academia.

for the most part, Thanos would rather hire powerhouse villains who can fight the Avengers and hunt the Infinity Stones, but he will make exceptions for villains with tricky Quirks, such as Himiko Toga and the Nomu called Kurogiri.

Kurogiri is valuable because he can use his Warp Gate ability to teleport people around, friend or foe. This can throw off his enemies and redirect their attacks, and this ability can also rapidly transport allies to or from the battlefield. Once Thanos' minions grab an Infinity Stone, Kurogiri can warp them away before the Avengers or Guardians can catch them.

1 THANOS WOULDN'T RECRUIT: Hekiji Tengai's Barriers Aren't Necessary

hekiji tengai mha

One of the most defensive MHA characters is Hekiji Tengai, one of the Eight Bullets who directly serve Overhaul the villain. Hekiji can make large energy barriers to protect himself and his allies, and even the heroic Fat Gum and Eijiro Kirishima had a tough time breaking through those barriers.

Barriers like these can be helpful, but Thanos has no need for them. His recruits need firepower to ruthlessly hunt down those Stones, and Thanos already has Kurogiri to block enemy attacks and teleport people around. So, Hekiji won't earn a spot in Thanos' team.
