Oftentimes, the villains of My Hero Academia have perceivably "evil" powers. Shigaraki can reduce his enemies to dust with a single touch, and Stain consumes the blood of his enemies in order to paralyze them in their tracks. This was one of the alleged criticisms of Hero Society which the antagonists have mentioned.

However, it isn't applicable to all evildoers of the series. Some among them have quirks that are not only viable for hero work, they may arguably be even better suited to it. By acknowledging the characters who possess these qualities, we can fully appreciate their potential for good.

10 Kurogiri's Warp Gate Could Help Civilians Escape From Dangerous Situations

My Hero Academia _ Shigaraki, Kurogiri, and the Nomu at USJ

Kurogiri's "Warp Gate" was able to create a portal for Shigaraki's villains to attack U.A High. It allowed them to escape under perilous circumstances, such as when the other professional heroes had arrived to save the students.

In the correct hands, this power could be used to evacuate hundreds of civilians from a dangerous area. It would have been particularly useful in Endeavor's battle against High-End, where the nomu had focused its attention on innocent people while the new Symbol of Peace was still recovering from his attack.

9 Hari's Chronostasis Can Remove An Opponent From Battle Without Harming Them

Hari kurono mha

Chronostasis was the quirk of Hari, an ability that allowed him to slow down whatever targets were hit. He used it in order to temporarily pacify Eraserhead and prevent him from assisting Deku against Overhaul.

This has immense heroic potential, especially since it can completely remove an opponent from a battle without harming them. It would allow him to take his villainous adversaries alive without risking their death like the other heroes' quirks might (such as Endeavor's or Bakugo's). Therefore, it would be a welcome asset in securing Japan's peace.

8 Shin Nemoto's Confession Is Perfect For Safe Interrogations

"Confession" was the quirk of Shin Nemoto. It allowed him to compel his targets to answer any questions he had freely and truthfully, sparing no detail (as illustrated through inquiry he launched against Toga and Twice).

Applied properly, this would allow Japan's heroes to safely interrogate their opponents without deigning to immoral means. Moreover, it could extract the answers they seek in a timely manner, providing information that could save countless innocent lives. Though it may not be the most useful in battle, its support utility makes it unique, relevant, and a viable asset to have.

7 Twice's Double Could Duplicate Heroes To Cover More Ground

twice double

Like its name suggests, Twice's quirk allowed him to double anything (including himself, later in the series). This has a number of applications that render him a potential force for good.

Not only can he duplicate heroes who might be better equipped to save others or defeat evil (such as All Might), his many copies are capable of fulfilling his will autonomously. As a result, he could spread himself out over a wide area, saving hundreds of people who are in need of his services. Considering that he is among the League's least malevolent members, his conversion was a frequently underrated possibility.

6 Hekiji's Barrier Can Protect Heroes & Civilians From Danger

Hekiji mha

Hekiji's "Barrier" quirk is one of the most flagrantly heroic powers to have been used by a villain. Possessing no potential for harm against others, he can only summon shields by which to protect himself and his friends.

They are durable enough to withstand Kirishima's punches, which could in turn shatter concrete with a single blow. Should Hekiji join Japan's heroes, his power would be invaluable in saving civilians from falling debris and preventing any harm from afflicting wounded allies.

5 Overhaul Can Mend Wounds & Restore Someone From The Brink Of Death

overhaul my hero academia

Overhaul's quirk had enormous destructive potential and was almost applied exclusively to harm other people. However, Chisaki's power is not explicitly villainous; it only guarantees him the strength to rearrange anything, permitting creation and destruction in equal measure.

A single touch of his hand can restore someone from the brink of death, a talent he would frequently employ when sustaining injuries from his opponents. Similarly, it follows that he could mend the wounds of injured civilians and those of his comrades, should Shigaraki's betrayal encourage him to change allegiances and work alongside those he had once found "filthy."

4 Muscular's Muscle Augmentation Can Sedate Opponents Without Causing Too Much Harm

Deku Struggling against Muscular

As its name suggests, Muscular's "Muscle Augmentation" quirk increases his physical strength and allows him to move the excess strands across his entire body. This has potential to make him a brawn-oriented hero, much like Izuku Midoriya or All Might.

As unsightly as his power might be, it is exceptionally viable for hero work since he can ensnare his opponents within his body. This would provide a chance to sedate the villains he comes across without inflicting irreparable damage, a trait that would be desirable among Japan's finest and one to complement his staggering durability.

3 Compress Can Easily Capture Villains & Transport Many Cilivians At Once

My Hero Academia - Mr Compress Marbles

Mr. Compress's quirk allows him to reduce anything to the size of a lightweight marble that he can hold in the palm of his hand. Frequently, he had used this in order to defeat his opponents and abduct them for the League's purposes.

Similarly, it would allow him to capture villains without a fight and secure them safely in prison. Since there is no limit to how many subjects his power can affect, he would also be able to use it against civilians in order to evacuate dozens of people in a crisis situation without risking their lives.

2 Gentle Criminal's Elasticity Could Break The Fall From Dangerous Heights

Gentle Criminal sad in MHA

Gentle Criminal's "Elasticity" quirk allowed him to rubberize any substance including air itself. This has massive potential for hero work, and should he not have blundered early into his career, he may have even been able to apply it correctly.

Hypothetically, it could allow hundreds of people to jump from a burning building without harming themselves since he could break their fall (either through using his power on the air around them or against the ground they were about to hit). It would be an extremely useful ability that few other characters of the series can imitate.

1 All For One Can Give Or Take Quirks To Bring Balance

All For One In My Hero Academia

It may seem unusual that the self-proclaimed "Symbol of Evil" has a quirk that possesses unrivaled potential for good. However, it can be purposed for noble ends if its user is responsible.

The most obvious application would be through confiscating the powers of evildoers and removing their potential to harm the public. Similarly, it can also create deserving new heroes who don't have quirks of their own (such as Midoriya at the beginning of the series) and remove the deformities of those whose "powers" are a greater liability than an asset.
