U.A. High School is considered the best academy to pursue a career as a hero in My Hero Academia. Over the years, this school has produced some absolute top heroes, such as the former number-one hero, All Might, himself.

The current generation of heroes at U.A. is full of students with splendid talent, with some capable of becoming the next number-one hero in the series' future. The students who train rigorously to become Pro Heroes at U.A. High School tend to shine more than their classmates. These students' Quirks are among the series' strongest, and any villain would be afraid of facing them.

Updated March 31st, 2023 by Louis Kemner: With Season 6 of My Hero Academia now complete, it's clearer than ever which U.A. students are prime material to become pro heroes and which are lagging behind in their studies. As expected, class 1-A is home to many of MHA's most skilled and talented students of all, though class 1-B has a few standouts and the big three students are also pro hero-level already. Then there's Hitoshi Shinso, who has come a long way since his days of openly envying the hero course at U.A.

25 Reiko Yanagi

Quirk: Poltergeist

Reiko Yanagi posing with her hands out in My Hero Academia

Reiko Yanagi can use her Poltergeist Quirk to move objects around with telekinesis, and she can control many of them at once to surround the enemy. Reiko's Quirk makes her useful for ranged combat, but she cannot lift objects heavier or bigger than a typical person.

Reiko is smart enough to combo her decent Quirk with other Quirks to get more mileage out of it. The main example is when she made a combo with Yui Kodai, who can instantly enlarge or shrink items from a distance. So, Reiko's Poltergeist Quirk hits much harder when her objects suddenly become huge and bludgeon the enemy.

24 Momo Yaoyorozu

Quirk: Creation

momo yaouorozu using a catapult in my hero academia

The genius student Momo Yaoyorozu may only have average physical strength and stamina, but she makes up for it with her Quirk's shee flexibility. Momo can use Creation to make any non-living item from her bare skin, from cannons and tracking devices to night-vision goggles and working sound systems.

Momo has gotten better in melee combat, such as using rods and shields to face the likes of Itsuka Kendo in single combat. Still, Momo truly shines as a support hero and tactical leader, such as when she rallied classes 1-A and 1-B to combine their talents and finally take down Gigantomachia.

23 Togaru Kamikiri

Quirk: Razor Sharp

Togaru Kamakiri intimidates the competition in My Hero Academia

Togaru Kamikiri is often overlooked as a combat-ready U.A. student in My Hero Academia, especially since he lost the only battle in which he had a serious part. That said, Togaru is a skilled and tough boy with a formidable Quirk, and he is also a good team player.

Togaru is a tall, lean student with the deadly Razor Sharp Quirk, which manifests as long, sharp blades that can appear anywhere on his body. That makes him a devastating melee fighter, and it may remind anime fans of the character Kimimaro Kaguya from Naruto.

22 Itsuka Kendo

Quirk: Big Fist

Itsuka Kendo running in MHA/My Hero Academia.

Itsuka Kendo is class 1-B's representative and unofficial big sister figure whom everyone relies on for support. Itsuka's Quirk is fairly straightforward, but she makes the most of it, and Itsuka also has incredible courage and leadership skills to round herself out as a trainee hero.

RELATED: 10 Class 1-A Students Who Could've Been Villains in My Hero Academia

Itsuka is a durable and hard-hitting melee hero who uses her oversized hands to bludgeon or grapple with her enemies, and she can even pound her way through Momo's metal shields over time. Itsuka's hands can also block or sweep away enemy Quirks such as Mustard's poison gas.

21 Mezo Shoji

Quirk: Dupli-Arms

Mezo Shoji with mouth tentacles from My Hero Academia.

Mezo Shoji is a quiet, polite boy who can use his six arms for just about anything. By default, Mezo uses his arms to enhance his senses, such as growing extra eyes or ears on them to locate the enemy and figure out what they are doing.

Mezo is also useful up close, where he can put his immense strength and many arms to good use. Mezo can easily grapple with or pummel anyone who comes within range, and on defense, he can use his arm and the webbing between them to block enemy attacks. He is also quite durable and resistant to pain.

20 Kojiro Bondo

Quirk: Cemedine

Kojiro Bondo slowly releases Cemedine Quirk in My Hero Academia

Kojiro Bondo's Quirk, Cemedine, allows him to secrete glue from the holes in his head. It's a great way to trap his opponents. The only thing capable of getting rid of Kojiro's Cemedine is Mina Ashido's Acid. In theory, a glue Quirk wouldn't be strong.

However, Kojiro can control how quickly the glue will dry and decide how much of it to apply at any given point. Similar to Mina's Acid, Cemedine is a mutant Quirk that physically alters the user's appearance to accommodate the secreted substance.

19 Neito Monoma

Quirk: Copy

Neito Monoma posing in his hero outfit in My Hero Academia.

Saying that Class 1-B's Neito Monoma is a nuisance is an understatement. However, there's no denying that his ability to copy someone else's Quirk is impressive. It threw Bakugo and Kirishima off during the Sports Festival. Bakugo was mad that someone copied him, and Kirishima thought there was a third person with a hardening Quirk at U.A. High.

Monoma can't copy every Quirk, though. He can't copy One For All, nor can he replicate Eri's Rewind Quirk. Still, Monoma would be a major nuisance to villains during a fight since he can turn around and use their diabolical super moves against them.

18 Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu

Quirk: Steel

Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu using his Quirk in My Hero Academia.

Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu is the mirror image of Class 1-A's Eijiro Kirishima, and both of them get annoyed at the redundancy of it all. But the good news is that they are equally strong, not equally weak. Their Quirks are simple but effective: hardening the skin.

RELATED: 10 My Hero Academia Pro Heroes We Would Want To Intern For

Tetsutetsu once fought Kirishima to a standstill, and he can take more than one bullet without going down. If he eats enough iron, his Quirk can harden even more, and this makes him a fine melee warrior and shield for any allied forces.

17 Rikido Sato

Quirk: Sugar Rush

Rikido Sato using his Quirk and ready to charge in My Hero Academia.

While Rikido is big and tough, he hasn't had a big moment of triumph just yet. In everyday life, this gentle giant is easy to get along with, and the girls all love his hobby of baking cakes and other sweets in his room.

In combat, Rikido can ingest sugar to receive a massive power boost, allowing him to smash through just about anything for a short period of time. He will experience a crash after a few moments, but until then, his strength is terrifying.

16 Jurota Shishida

Quirk: Beast

Jurota Shishida grinning and ready to fight in My Hero Academia.

Class 1-B's Jurota Shishida possesses a Quirk called Beast. The Quirk allows Jurota to turn into a huge beast. He resembles a total wild animal when he goes beast mode and acts like one, too. He becomes stronger, faster, and nearly invincible to enemy attacks.

In beast mode, Jurota can bulldoze through crowds of people, send his opponents flying, and dodge electric shocks like it's nothing. His senses are also enhanced in this form, especially his sense of smell. Unfortunately, Jurota gets easily carried away in beast mode, so he has to stay mindful to avoid it.

15 Manga Fukidashi

Quirk: Comic

Manga Fukidashi talking in My Hero Academia.

In My Hero Academia, the sky is the limit regarding possible Quirks. Manga Fukidashi's Quirk, for example, turns battlegrounds into comic book pages. Any onomatopoeia he speaks, like "BLAM" or "KA-BOOM!" manifests in a super-sized form. "KA-BOOM!," once spoken, will manifest as gigantic words and crash through the environment.

RELATED: 10 Things Class 1-B In MHA Does Better Than Class 1-A

The Manga Quirk can either crush an opponent or act as an effective barricade. He can also manipulate environmental conditions by saying "DAMP," for example. This makes the environment significantly more humid and works well with Kinoko's Mushrooms.

14 Denki Kaminari

Quirk: Electrification

Denki Kaminari looking confused in My Hero Academia.

Denki's only real problem is that he's a bit dense and gets the worst grades in hero Class 1-A. For this reason, he operates at max capacity when a strategy-oriented teammate can give him clear directions and cues to use his Quirk.

His Quirk emits powerful blasts of lightning that can stun many targets at once, and Mei Hatsume later made him a wrist-mounted device that can channel his lightning into a narrow, precise beam to avoid collateral damage. Denki turned the tables on Seiji Shishikura this way.

13 Ibara Shiozaki

Quirk: Vines

Ibara Shiozaki clasping her hands in the sunlight in My Hero Academia.

Class 1-B's Ibara Shiozaki doesn't have a mean bone in her body, and she didn't like it when Present Mic suggested that she was a brutal warrior. Instead, Ibara likes to incapacitate her enemies without shedding blood, and with her Quirk, that is 100% possible.

Ibara's hair grows like vines, and she can rapidly extend them and move them around like tentacles to capture and subdue enemies. As she proved against Denki, she can also block enemy attacks with those vines, making them useful both on offense and defense.

12 Mina Ashido

Quirk: Acid

Mina Ashido using Acid Quirk in My Hero Academia

Mina Ashido is one of Class 1-A's most powerful students. Though her Acid is terrifying and dangerous, she's so bubbly it's hard to be afraid of her. Plus, she combines her epic dancing skills into her fighting choreography to really stand out from the other heroes.

RELATED: 10 Times The Students Outshined The Pro Heroes In My Hero Academia

Mina's skin is resistant to the Acid she secretes, which explains her pink complexion. Mina can shoot Acid out from any part of her body but prefers using her hands for better precision. Her Acid can melt anything, including metal. Mina often strikes her opponent's most vulnerable attributes, like Quirk-enhancing equipment or exploiting weak body parts.

11 Tenya Iida

Quirk: Engine

Tenya Iida running in My Hero Academia.

The uptight but friendly Tenya Iida is the class president in Class 1-A, and he is the second-smartest student behind the genius Momo Yaoyorozu. Iida favors discipline and studying above all else, and he makes a good coach, too.

But Iida's not all talk. Iida's engine Quirk allows him to sprint at incredible speeds, and he can outmaneuver most opponents easily and take them out. He can also deliver quick, hard-hitting kicks, which he demonstrated against the mighty Shoto Todoroki during the sports festival. He didn't win that match, but he came impressively close.

10 Hitoshi Shinso

Quirk: Brainwashing

Hitoshi Shinso looking confident at the Sports Festival in My Hero Academia.

Shinso is a student from the General Department of Class 1-C at U.A. Making his debut during the Sports Festival, Shinso's power instantly made him a fan favorite. He possesses the Quirk known as Brainwashing which allows him to control anyone who answers any of his questions. Under Aizawa's training, Shinso has made his ability far more impressive, and he can now use a voice changer to further trick his enemies.

Shinso's physical prowess has also reached a point where he can fight against others without relying on his Quirk, thanks to him adopting Shota Aizawa's Cloth Bind technique. Shino has successfully passed the entrance exam during the Join Training arc and he'll now sit in the Hero Course from his second year at U.A.

9 Setsuna Tokage

Quirk: Lizard Tail Splitter

Setsuna Tokage grinning and flipping her hair in My Hero Academia.

Described as Class 1-B's most talented student, Tokage is extremely skilled and prideful. As her name suggests, Tokage's Quirk, known as Lizard Tail Splitter, allows her to split up her body into several parts and telekinetically use every part with great precision.

Undoubtedly, this is a fearsome ability, and with its powers, Tokage was certain that she could defeat Katsuki Bakugo. Although she lost to him pretty badly, Tokage remains an excellent student whose abilities haven't been completely revealed yet.

8 Fumikage Tokoyami

Quirk: Dark Shadow

Tokoyami and Dark Shadow struggling in My Hero Academia.

One of the dark horses of Class 1-A, Tokoyami is the user of the frightening Quirk known as Dark Shadow, which gives him the powers of a strange bird-like shadow entity that dwells within him. Tokoyami's Quirk gets stronger in the presence of darkness, and weaker when there's light around.

RELATED: 10 Things Class 1-A In MHA Does Better Than Class 1-B

Consequently, he fails to control it properly in complete darkness, which is why he chooses to suppress his abilities as much as possible. Nonetheless, Tokoyami's abilities are certainly deadly, and although he doesn't get to show it off as much, he's one of U.A.'s strongest.

7 Eijiro Kirishima

Quirk: Hardening

Eijiro Kirishima fighting as Red Riot in My Hero Academia.

Class 1-A's Eijiro Kirishima is one of the brightest students at U.A. While he doesn't appear to be dangerous based on his appearance, his Quirk still has its uses after all. Kirishima has the power of Hardening at his disposal using which he can solidify his body to different degrees at will. Once taken to its limits, Kirishima gains a form known as Red Riot Unbreakable.

This form of his is exceptionally fearsome and it certainly makes him a threat to any villain out there. In terms of skill, his mastery over it ensures that Kirishima is one of the strongest at U.A., even more so in his own class.

6 Shoto Todoroki

Quirk: Half-Cold Half-Hot

Shoto Todoroki looking determined in My Hero Academia.

Belonging to Class 1-A, Shoto Todoroki is said to be a prodigy who is already at around the level of Pro Heroes. His father, Endeavor, made sure that he trained his skills to the point where he could, one day, surpass even All Might. Shoto's Quirk is known as Half-Cold Half-Hot and it is a perfect mixture of his mother's ice ability and his father's flame ability.

Using this Quirk, he can manipulate both these powers simultaneously and give rise to a highly destructive power. Despite that, Shoto had much to learn and his control over his fire side isn't as good, which is why he's training under Endeavor right now.
