My Hero Academia's fifth anime season included some explosive new developments and intrigue, from Izuku manifesting a brand-new Quirk from One For All to the joint training exercise at U.A. and even the My Villain Academia story arc. It was a busy season, to say the least.

While Season 5 did a fine job building upon the last four seasons, it also raised some intriguing questions and left all kinds of loose ends where the heroes and villains alike are concerned. No doubt My Hero Academia fans are eager to see all these plot threads resolved somehow in the upcoming Season 6, and it's clear which plot threads should be answered first.

10 Endeavor's Quest For Atonement

todoroki walking past endeavor my hero

The flaming Endeavor was introduced as a borderline villain, a vain and self-absorbed hero who abused his family for the sake of surpassing his greatest rival, All Might. Season 5 humanized Endeavor a great deal, and it showed how much he sincerely regretted his many mistakes.

Endeavor is on a quest to atone for all this, whether or not his sons and daughter forgive him, and he also proved himself a great teacher to Izuku and his friends. Season 6 is likely to see the conclusion of Endeavor's intriguing personal arc.

9 Whether Oboro Shirakumo Can Be Restored

Present Mic and Eraser Head mourn Kurogiri in My Hero Academia

All For One uses a variety of monstrous Nomu to enforce his will, and the most unique of them is the support villain known as Kurogiri. He can talk and use the Warp Gate Quirk, which already set him apart from most Nomu, but there's more to it than that.

Kurogiri was built from the dead body of Oboro Shirakumo, an old classmate of Shota Aizawa and Present Mic. It's not yet clear whether Oboro's personality can be restored in this new body, but Season 6 might provide some answers and prove whether the dead can be brought back.

8 Eri's Quest To Have A Normal Life

eri in my hero academia

Eri was a minor character in Season 4, a young girl with the remarkable Rewind Quirk. Overhaul used her to make Quirk-nullifying darts until Izuku and Mirio rescued her, and Eri is now being rehabilitated in U.A.'s secure campus.

Eri is making progress in terms of her Quirk and childhood alike, but there is still some ground left to cover. She still needs time for her mental scars to heal, and she still needs time to fully master her Quirk and prevent it from going out of control. Season 6 may show just how far Eri has come.

7 Hawks' Role As A Mole

The young #2 hero, the winged Hawks, is a double agent embedded within the vast Meta Liberation Army organization. He has earned the trust of villains such as Dabi and even Re-Destro, and he has been feeding Endeavor and other heroes information the entire time. So far, it's working.

Hawks was also present when the League of Villains and MLA united to form the Paranormal Liberation Front, but fans cannot yet determine what Hawks will do about this. How much longer will he remain embedded before making his move? Surely, Season 6 will tell all.

6 Izuku's Imprinted Quirks In One For All

Deku using Blackwhip

During the joint training exercise, Izuku went up against his friendly rival Hitoshi Shinso, but halfway through their clash, Izuku's powers went out of control. To everyone's shock, including Izuku's, a brand-new Quirk emerged from One For All, known as Blackwhip.

Shinso's Quirk helped get Blackwhip under control, and soon, Izuku learned how OFA's previous users had had their Quirk factors imprinted into OFA. This means that Izuku will learn a few more bonus Quirks in Season 6, and no doubt fans are looking forward to that. Blackwhip is just the start.

5 What Tomura Shigaraki Will Do Next

shigaraki downcast from my hero academia

Tomura Shigaraki the archvillain had a heroic story arc of his own in Season 5, including his difficult live-fire test against the massive Gigantomachia. Tomura smartly pitted Gigantomachia against his Meta Liberation Army rivals, and Dr. Garaki was impressed.

Tomura soon obtained new Quirks, a new leadership role and no doubt a new mission as well. He and his many villainous allies are poised to wage war on the world of heroes, and Season 6 should show everyone exactly how Tomura Shigaraki plans to make his move. He's more dangerous than ever before.

4 Who The U.A. Traitor Might Be

U.A. School My Hero Academia Ectoplasm Nezu Snipe Thirteen All Might Toshinori Yagi Midnight Eraser Head Shota Aizawa Present Mic Cementoss Power Loader

This is a subplot that was launched fairly early in My Hero Academia, not long after the League of Villains' attack on the USJ compound. The teachers were convinced that such an attack was impossible unless the villains had inside help, and Present Mic floated the idea of there being a U.A. traitor.

That particular subplot has been dormant ever since, but now that the battle of good vs. evil is heating up again, it may be time for Season 6 to resume the traitor subplot and make progress with it. Whoever that traitor is, they're sure to strike again soon.

3 Himiko Toga's Rise To Power

Himiko Toga uses her Quirk Transform to use Ochaco's Quirk Zero Gravity in My Hero Academia.

The villain Himiko Toga became a star during the My Villain Academia story arc when she clashed with a rival villain named Curious. Himiko's personal backstory was explored in greater detail than ever before, and she got an upgrade to her Transform Quirk as well.

Himiko also became a high-ranking member of the Paranormal Liberation Front, and all this means Himiko is stronger and more compelling than ever. Wherever Himiko's character arc takes her, surely Season 6 will include her final moment of triumph, or defeat.

2 The Mystery Of Dabi The Villain

dabi apathetic from my hero academia

Many villains received remarkable development in recent episodes, or at least got a decent amount of screen time. This includes the blue-flame villain Dabi, a veteran League of Villains member who is closely loyal to Tomura Shigaraki. He has survived battles that claimed the lives of many other villains.

Anime fans are eager to know who Dabi really is and where he came from, and whether he has a connection to Shoto and Endeavor. Interestingly, Endeavor's oldest son Toya is evidently deceased, but perhaps Dabi and Toya are connected, or actually the same person. Season 6 may dive deeper into that.

1 Whether Mirio Togata Will Return To Active Duty

Mirio injured and blood

Mirio Togata lost his Permeation Quirk during his fight with Overhaul, but even without his Quirk, he is still an impressively powerful fighter and a good person all the same. In Season 5, Mirio has been sidelined as a hero, but he seems confident that things will take a turn for the better eventually.

It's unlikely, but not necessarily impossible, that Mirio will get his Quirk back in Season 6, or at least, he might resume active duty as a hero without it. He has come too far to just watch his fellow heroes fight on the daytime news.
