10  Villains Rising

League of Villains My Hero Academia

Fans of the manga have been waiting to see this upcoming arc animated for some time now, and fans of the anime won’t be let down. For three seasons now fans around the world have watched as Deku, his friends, and his heroes have fought and grown, defeating All For One and Shigaraki at nearly every corner.

With All Might having officially retired, however, things are about to take a turn down a very dark alley. Deku and his friends have trained long and hard to get to where they are by the start of season four, but Shigaraki and the League of Villains haven’t just been sitting around waiting to be defeated. With this upcoming arc, Shigaraki and the proteges of All For One are finally ready to show just how powerful the forces of evil can become without All Might there to hinder them.

9 Heroes Falling

“Next... next, it’s your turn.” Those are the words that All Might uttered to crowded city streets through the lens of an onlooking camera after his final triumph over All For One. All Might, his students, and his enemies all became abundantly aware that this fight would be his last.

While Shigaraki and the League of Villains are taking this absence of light to spread their dark delights, All Might’s colleagues and students are made aware of the immense shoes they’ve been called to fill. While Deku experiences this moment as a personal message from All Might directly to him, fans can bet that there are many other heroes out there that took this call to action just as personally. Some will rise to the occasion, yes, but there are others, undoubtedly, that will fall.

8 New Heroes

My Hero Academia - Sir Nighteye

While the previous three seasons have spent a lot of time dealing with the students and teachers of UA, there hasn’t been very much time spent with the heroes outside the walls of the school. With the fourth season and the upcoming work-study arc, fans will get a much closer and more personal look at some of the heroes that spend their time outside the walls of UA. One such hero, Sir Nighteye—a former sidekick of All Might himself—will end up playing a large role in Deku’s life, much like he already has with Mirio.

7 More Of Mirio And The Rest Of The Big Three

My Hero Academia the Big Three

Speaking of Mirio, or Lemillion as he might like to be called, any fans interested in seeing more of UA’s number one student in action will definitely get their fill in the upcoming season. Along with Mirio, the rest of the big three will also be playing a much larger role in the upcoming season.

While fans have already gotten a brief glimpse of the kind of power Mirio possesses, fans will finally get a peek at what Nejire and Tamaki bring to the table as well. Looks like Deku will have some tough competition for UA’s number one spot.

6 Overhaul

While fans have already gotten a little peek of My Hero Academia’s newest villain on the block, they haven’t really gotten a true taste of the kind of villain that Overhaul is. Kai Chisaki (otherwise known as the villain Overhaul) will play a much larger role in the upcoming season. He has the ability to disassemble and reassemble anything he touches, whether that be concrete, light posts, or flesh... and whether he chooses to reassemble it or not.

While villains like Shigaraki are mostly in it to destroy the “toxic” hero culture that has developed, Chisaki wants not only the hero culture to be destroyed, but also the Yakuza (of which he is a part) to rise to power once again.

5 Eri

Eri is a bit of a tragic case in the world of My Hero Academia. While she does have one of the strongest quirks (Rewind), which allows her to rewind any individual's body to a previous state—a quirk that could definitely come in hand for someone like Deku, who breaks his body so thoroughly on such a regular basis that it’s a wonder he’s even still able to use his arms—Eri was cursed with being the daughter of Chisaki’s Yakuza boss, which may not have been so bad if it wasn’t for the Chisaki of it all.

4 Quirk Evolutions

With All Might gone and the world at large suffering the great loss of its number one hero, the heroes, students, and villains are all getting ready to truly step up their game. Tensions on all sides are rising and when the situation gets tough, the tough get growing.

Deku and the rest of his classmates at UA have been training their hardest to make sure that they can not only defend themselves from the incoming threats they’ve faced since early in the careers at UA, but also defend others from those same imposing forces. While training and hard work can take a student along with their quirk so far, things are about to get a whole lot more intense when their quirks begin to evolve into powers they never could’ve imagined.

3 Hero Work-Studies

Fans have already gotten a little taste of what it means for the students of UA to intern for some of the heroes they admire, but, throughout the course of season four, they will get a better look at what truly goes into these work-studies.

While some of Ua’s students will be teaming up with their previous employers, some students, like Deku, will be taking in lessons from teachers/employers that they haven’t yet been introduced to. Deku is a student with many masters, and to face what Chisaki and Shigaraki have in store for him, he’s going to need all the help he can get.

2 A World Without All Might

The world of My Hero Academia left viewers on kind of a bittersweet note. While Deku has received a never level of passion, driving him to reach further and further heights, it came at a cost. While Toshinori still remains as a teacher and mentor, the world has been left without it’s greatest hero, All Might.

With All Might gone, that leaves the abrasive hero Endeavor to take the number one spot, a position he likely did not receive the way he had hoped to. It also opens up space for the students of UA to aim as high as possible to catch up to their fallen hero. And last, but certainly not least, it signals to the villains that their time to rise has finally come.

1 Plus Ultra!

The world of My Hero Academia is in for a rapid and relentless change, but it’s safe to bet that the heroes, along with the students of UA will do their best to keep up with the rapidly changing environment. Much like All Might has always done when the odds are stacked against and he’s used the last of his strength, the heroes and their students will continue to push and push until the job is done. A hero continues to fight even when they’ve got no fight left. So, get ready to continue the fight in just a few short weeks! Plus Ultra!
