The sixth season of My Hero Academia will treat viewers to six months of all-out war between heroes and villains.

According to the Anime News And Facts Twitter, Season 6 of the iconic superhero anime will air for two consecutive cours, starting in October 2022 and concluding in March 2023. The tweet also displayed the main key visual for the new season, giving fans a glimpse of what the story has in store. It shows heroes like Deku, Hawks and Mirko and villains like Shigaraki, Dabi and Twice, all of them ready to throw down.

Season 6 of My Hero Academia will adapt the Paranormal Liberation War Arc from the manga; the season's trailer hypes the intense conflict to come and sees characters on both sides preparing for the inevitable confrontation. While the coming storyline is one of the most emotional and heart-wrenching in the narrative, viewers also have the opportunity to enjoy the more comedic side of My Hero Academia; Crunchyroll recently released two new OVAs that detail what happened during the students' work studies.

Kōhei Horikoshi began publishing his wildly popular manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine in July 2014 and so far, the series has produced 35 volumes worth of content. My Hero Academia is set in a world where 80% of the population has some sort of superpower, called a Quirk, and individuals work as Pro Heroes to apprehend criminals and villains. The story focuses on Izuku Midoriya, a high school student who dreams of becoming a great hero like his idol All Might despite being born without a Quirk. With over 65 million copies sold globally, My Hero Academia is one of the best-selling manga of all time.

The first season of the My Hero Academia anime adaptation from Bones premiered in April 2016 and quickly became a massive hit, drawing in a plethora of new fans to the franchise. The show has continually received overwhelming praise from critics and has won several notable awards, including Best VA Performance (EN) and Best Fight Scene at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in 2021.

Horikoshi's manga and Bones' anime adaptation have inspired numerous spinoffs. The franchise includes a light novel series, three feature films, multiple stage plays and several video games. There is also a wealth of official collectibles and merchandise.

Seasons 1 through 5 of My Hero Academia and many of the series' OVAs are available on Crunchyroll.
