My Hero Academia fits squarely in the superhero genre, and it goes without saying that super powers are the norm. But even in this fantastical shonen anime setting, not all Quirks are used explicitly for clashes between heroes and villains.

While almost everybody found a way to utilize their Quirk for combat, self-defense, or more dastardly means, there are some abilities that are arguably better off being used in the most mundane and peaceful situations imaginable.

WARNING: Spoilers ahead.

10 Twice's Double (Initially) Made His Life Easier

Twice Goes On A Crime Spree In My Hero Academia

For a low level con like Jin Bubaigawara, a duplicating quirk like Double was a dream come true. Not only was he basically in charge of his own limitless gang, but he could live like a king by ordering his clones to take care of menial chores that bored him. Unfortunately for him, this leisurely lifestyle wasn't meant to last long.

Because his clones all shared his laziness and ego, they soon grew tired of following a bum's orders and fought among themselves to determine who the "real" Jin was. Jin barely survived the ensuing massacre, but the experience of seeing his clones brutalize each other for days on end left permanent damage on his psyche.

9 Fumikage Tokoyami's Dark Shadow Is More Than Just A Quirk

Anime Tokoyami And Dark Shadow Pick Apples In My Hero Academia

At first glance, it may seem as if Tokoyami's superpower is the ability to summon a supernatural familiar to do his bidding. Dark Shadow has proven themselves useful in many Class 1-A battles, but they're more than just Tokoyami's living weapon. In fact, Dark Shadow is Tokoyami's friend.

Dark Shadow has a fully developed intellect and persona, and they're known to be loyal and friendly towards Tokoyami and his allies. Some fans even interpret Dark Shadow as an extension of Tokoyami's personality, not just something he can summon. In more ways than one, Dark Shadow is as much a part of Class 1-A as Tokoyami is.

8 Mei Hatsume's Zoom Is Useful In Her Field Of Expertise

Mei Demonstrates Her New Tech In My Hero Academia

When it comes to combat, Mei's Zoom – which allows her vision to zoom in on a target up to 5km away, is incredibly useless. That said, Mei never had any plans to be a fighting hero to begin with. Instead, her priorities lied in being the best support hero around while also turning a profit from her engineering prowess.

While she has a Quirk, Mei's real strength came from her business savvy and genius-level inventor mind. During the Sports Festival, Mei only used her Quirk to lock on potential investors' locations, not in besting Tenya Ida. As far as she was concerned, Tenya was just a test dummy for her latest invention, specifically the Auto Balancers.

7 Denki Kaminari's Electrification Turned Him Into A Walking Battery

Kaminari Charges The Tractor In My Hero Academia Heroes Rising

Given that a fully-powered Electrification can unleash up to 1.3 billion volts, it goes without saying that Kaminari's ability is one of the strongest (if still untapped) Quirks in all of Class 1-A. Electricity is what basically runs modern society. So in everyday life, the otherwise mighty Kaminari is little more than an electric socket.

The most common mundanity that Kaminari's ability is good for is charging phones, which has become something of a recurring gag in MHA. On other occasions, Kaminari charges up other electric-powered machines, like an old tractor's battery as seen in the second My Hero Academia movieHeroes: Rising.

6 Present Mic's Voice Made Him A Natural Announcer

Present Mic Freaks Out In My Hero Academia

Hizashi Yamada was always an energetic loudmouth, and his ability to weaponize his voice only made louder than usual. At full power, Present Mic could level entire forests and city blocks by shouting. On a normal day at U.A. High School where he taught would-be heroes, he was still loud enough to be heard from a long distance.

This was due in part to his Directional Speaker System, which basically turned him into a walking sound system that super-charged his already super powered-voice. Outside of hero duties and emergencies, Present Mic often used his Quirk for public occasions like the U.A. Sports Fest, in which he was the color commentator.

5 Kyokoa Jiro's Earphone Jack Is Perfect For Her Lifestyle

Jiro Listens To Music In My Hero Academia

As an amateur musician who came from a family of musicians, Jiro's Quirk couldn't be any more appropriate. When she isn't using Earphone Jack for reconnaissance or emitting giant sonic blasts, Jiro uses her Quirk for the simplest things like hooking her ears up to her phone to listen to music or her instruments during the U.A. School Festival.

The other thing she uses Earphone Jack for is petty violence, especially if it's Mineta on the receiving end. When Class 1-A's resident pervert tried to peep in the girls' changing room, Jiro poked him in the eye with her ability. She also has a habit of using it on anyone who annoys her, like Kaminari and Aoyama during the room tours.

4 Cementoss' Cement Let Him Create Buildings Instantaneously

Anime Cementoss Creates Gym Gamma In My Hero Academia

Ken Ishiyama is a powerful superhero and U.A. Academy teacher. With his ability Cement, Cementoss lives up to his codename by bending cement-based structures and surfaces to his will. Using this Quirk, Cementoss can alter the battlefield in a heartbeat or weaponize cement structures on a terrifyingly massive scale.

Outside of combat, though, Cementoss is actually a great builder and engineer. Using his Quirk, Cementoss can quickly erect infrastructure. Examples in the anime include the fighting arena used in the U.A. Sports Fest and the fortified Gym Gamma. Meanwhile in the manga's latest arc, he was able to turn U.A. Academy itself into a fortress.

3 Kurogiri's Warp Gate Provided A Convenient Means Of Travel

Kurogiri activates his Warp Gate in My Hero Academia.

Though he was one of All For One's most trusted lieutenants, Kurogiri was never really one for combat. The walking shadow was more of the caretaker to All For One's ward Tomura Shigaraki, and his teleporting Quirk was more situational than it was lethal. However, Kurogiri made good use of this more than once.

Whenever the League Of Villains was caught in a bind, Kurogiri always provided an escape route. Kurogiri also used Warp Gate defensively, such as deescalating a fight between the villains or splitting up the heroes during larger battles. Whatever Warp Gate lacked in raw strength, Kurogiri made up with cunning and strategy.

2 Principal Nezu's High Spec Gave Him Genius-Level Intellect

Principal Nezu Checks The News In My Hero Academia

Previously a normal lab rat, Principal Nezu suddenly became self-aware and genius on the day his Quirk manifested. Thanks to High Spec, Nezu was granted limitless comprehension, intelligence, and perception, effectively making U.A. Academy's principal one of (if not) the smartest Quirk-user in My Hero Academia.

In a direct fight, Nezu would lose, given his uninspiring stature and physique. That being said, Nezu wouldn't even have to throw a punch to win since he can just order more powerful heroes to enforce his perfect strategies in his head. Worse, his traumas from being a test subject turned him into a sadist, meaning he can and will think of the most dreadful masterplans.

1 Recovery Girl's Heal Is A Medical Godsend

Recovery Girl Takes A Walk In My Hero Academia

Recovery Girl is My Hero Academia's most powerful healer. As if Chiyo Shuzenji's experience and knowledge from years of practicing medicine wasn't enough, her ability Heal (which instantaneously cures severe injuries with a kiss) further cements her status as the heroes' vital medic.

The seeming trade-off for this, though, is Recovery Girl's complete lack of combat ability. Aside from the fact that her Quirk does the exact opposite of what a battle should accomplish, Recovery Girl is one of the anime's oldest characters. Even if she'd want to fight for justice, the best Recovery Girl could do is help from the sidelines.
