My Hero Academia follows the journey of Izuku Midoriya as he aims to become the greatest Hero in the world and the next Symbol of Peace akin to All Might. Izuku is one of the brightest students at U.A High School, but there are others who are equally as talented as him. Kohei Horikoshi had made sure to include some strong characters with tonnes of potential in both Class 1-A and 1-B.

Although Class 1-B is often underestimated, there are some extraordinarily powerful students there, some of which can even defeat the likes of Class 1-A students. Here are 5 powerful Class 1-A students and 5 Class 1-B students who can defeat them.

10 1-A: Momo Yaoyorozu

Momo is one of Class 1-A's most diligent students and certainly one who is ranked among the strongest in her class. She possesses the Creation Quirk and can create matter according to her will as long as she knows the atomic configuration of the said object.

Momo's powers have seen her rise high and even earn a Provisional Hero License. Furthermore, she's attracted the interest of some pro Heroes as well, most of who would love to have her in their Hero agency.

9 Can Be Defeated By: Itsuka Kendo

Kendo is Momo's rival and the two have been in fierce competition with each other since the very beginning of the My Hero Academia series. Both Momo and Kendo are capable Hero aspirants so it isn't a surprise to see Kendo being capable enough to defeat Yaoyorozu Momo.

In fact, during the Joint Training Battle arc, Kendo's team was successfully able to defeat Momo's team, showing fans that she isn't a pushover at all. Kendo's Quirk, known as Big Fist, may not be as powerful as Momo's but it is equally useful.

8 1-A: Kyouka Jiro

Another bright student from Class 1-A, Jiro possesses a Quirk known as Earphone Jack that enables her to plug her ear into objects to listen to certain vibrations. It also gives her the ability to channel her own heartbeats into others and damage them from within.

Jiro is likely one of the most underrated students from Class 1-A, but she's proven time and again that she is more than capable of defeating strong foes. It goes without saying that she'll turn out to be an excellent Hero.

7 Can Be Defeated By: Setsuna Tokage

Setsuna Tokage is, arguably, Class 1-B's strongest student. She was one of their recommended students, which just shows that she's a cut above the rest. Furthermore, her Quirk, known as Lizard Tail Splitter, gives her the frightening ability to split her body into parts and control them telekinetically.

Although Jiro is strong, she's certainly not powerful enough to defeat Tokage, who could even fight against Bakugo Katsuki. While she did lose to Bakugo very badly, it was only because she was taken by surprise due to his sudden teamwork.

6 1-A: Minoru Mineta

Minoru Mineta is one of Class 1-A's weaker students who hasn't gotten many chances to shine so far. That's not to say Mineta is weak, though. He's just not comparable to the monsters like Bakugo and Midoriya. His Quirk, known as Pop Off, allows him to produce removable balls from his head that stick to everything they're attached to.

It doesn't have many uses in battle but Mineta works great as a backup when someone else is fighting alongside him. Over time, his abilities have evolved as well and he's only going to get stronger.

5 Can Be Defeated By: Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu

Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu using his Quirk in My Hero Academia.

Tetsutetsu is Class 1-B's answer to Eijiro Kirishima. While he may not be strong enough to defeat Kirishima, he's certainly more than capable of defeating Mineta. Tetsutetsu's Quirk is known as Steel and it allows him to turn his body into, you guessed it, steel.

Using this power, he's granted a certain amount of durability and insanely high offensive power as well. He's even fought and matched Todoroki during the Joint Training Battle arc and for him, defeating Mineta shouldn't be much of a problem.

4 1-A: Tenya Iida

Tenya Iida Ingenium My Hero Academia

Iida, also known by the Hero name of Ingenium, is the class representative of 1-A and one of their strongest. He possesses a Quirk known as Engine, which gives him the power to pop out an engine from his body to boost his movement speed and power. Iida has previously fought against some of the strongest characters in the series, such as Stain, and done well.

During the Joint Training Battle arc, he proved his worth by facing some of Class 1-B's strongest students and managing to tie up the battle. Iida may not be the strongest, but he's among the most hardworking and efficient students of the entire school.

3 Can Be Defeated By: Monoma

Monoma is one of the most clever students in My Hero Academia, so much so that he almost resembles a Villain. Monoma's Quirk is known as Copy and it allows him to copy the Quirk of anyone when certain conditions are met.

Usually, once Monoma comes in contact with a person, he can copy their Quirk and use it against them. He is known to have copied several Quirks at a time, which makes him a fearsome opponent for anyone. While the chances for Iida to defeat Monoma are decent, the opposite is equally true.

2 1-A: Denki Kaminari

Also known as Stun Gun Hero: Chargebolt, Denki is a character who many consider to be useless when it comes to close combat. He makes up for his inability to fight close-quarters by releasing powerful waves of current using his Quirk, known as Electrification. Denki's maximum current output is 2 million volts, but it causes his brain to short circuit.

Nonetheless, he'll get better with time and turn his weaknesses into strengths. However, for now, he remains to be one of the characters who need more training.

1 Can Be Defeated By: Ibara Shiozaki

Ibara Shiozaki is one of Class 1-B's most fearsome students. Also known as Vine, Ibara is famous for her rather pesky Quirk know as Vines. Using this ability, Ibara can turn her hair into Vines and extended them according to her will.

She's fought and defeated some of the strongest students during the Sports Festival arc in the series, and that includes the likes of Mina Ashido as well. For Denki, getting past her Quirk could prove to be very dangerous and he will likely end up losing the fight.
