One Piece and My Hero Academia are big players in the anime and manga game. Both series are well received by fans and critics alike, and neither show any signs of stopping any time soon. Though these two great shows operate differently, with unique premises and whatnot, they do in fact share similarities.

A common feature that both shows are renowned for is their power systems. Hundreds of power systems exist in anime, but very few could outdo the Devil Fruits and Quirks of these One Piece and My Hero Academia, respectively. While the two power systems are fundamentally different, there are multiple abilities that we often see in both One Piece and My Hero Academia. Here are 10 of these abilities that stand out because of how strikingly similar they are to one another.

10 Inu Inu No Mi (Devil Fruit) & Dog (Quirk)

Inu Inu No Mi is a Zoan-type Devil Fruit that grants its user the characteristics of dogs. Notably, this Devil Fruit comes in multiple models. Each model the standard doglike abilities with extra abilities that are unique to said model only.

On the other hand, Dog is a transformation-type Quirk that belongs to pro hero aptly named Hound Dog. True to his name, Hound Dog is a sentient bipedal dog that just so happens to be the size of a bodybuilder. Like Inu Inu No Mi, this Quirk gives its user all the pros and cons of being a man-sized dog.

9 Ushi Ushi No Mi (Devil Fruit) & Cow (Quirk)

Like the Inu Inu No Mi, Ushi Ushi No Mi is also a Zoan-type Devil Fruit that comes in different models. So far in the series, the most prominent models are that of the bison and a giraffe. If these variants exist, then a vanilla version and even more animal-themed variants shouldn't be outside of the realm of possibility.

Similarly, Cow is another transformation-type Quirk. This ability hasn't seen much action yet, but it's easy to deduce what it can do based on what was seen in the anime and its overt similarities to Ushi Ushi No Mi's bison mode.

8 Mato Mato No Mi (Devil Fruit) & Homing (Quirk)

These two abilities are very alike in effect but compared to Homgin, the Mato Mato No Mi is more overpowered. The common effect of these two powers is that they allow the user to snipe targets from long distances with relative ease.

While one would need certain sharpshooting skills to effectively use Homing, the same does not apply to Mato Mato No Mi. One downside to the Mato Mato No Mi is that the user would need to touch the target prior to sniping them.

7 Zushi Zushi No Mi (Devil Fruit) & Zero Gravity (Quirk)

Even though these two abilities are in different leagues, they do share a common theme: gravity. The Zushi Zushi No Mi grants its user a full set of gravity manipulation skills such as gravitational pull, zero gravity, etc. Even in the world of One Piece, this Devil Fruit is an absolute banger.

On the other hand, Zero Gravity possesses many drawbacks including nausea if overused and a weight limit. Though it's weaker than its counterpart, it's still an amazing Quirk. There is also the fact that Uraraka is only now mastering her gravitational Quirk, so the chance of her abilities getting stronger is a possibility.

6 Kaido's Unnamed Devil Fruit & Dragon (Quirk)

As of this writing, Kaido's Devil Fruit is still unnamed. What is known, though, is that whichever Devil Fruit he ate, it gave him the ability to transform into a dragon from predominantly Asian mythologies. A giant dragon from Asian mythologies, at that.

Ryuko's Dragon Quirk also allows her to transform into a dragon, but not on the same magnitude. Both of the abilities turn their users into a dragon which is a creature that is not only strong and powerful, but one that is very cool as well.

5 Hie Hie No Mi (Devil Fruit) & Half Hot Half Cold (Quirk)

For this entry, the Devil Fruit will only be compared to a literal half of the Quirk. Both of these abilities allow their users to conjure and manipulate ice but, of course, on a different scale.

Kuzan, the user of Hie Hie No Mi, could use his ability to completely freeze stretches of water that are hundreds of kilometres in size. Todorki, meanwhile, has the ability to freeze or burn anything in his way, though over reliance on either half depletes his stamina. If these are somehow not overpowered, then we don't know what is.

4 Kira Kira No Mi (Devil Fruit) & Crystallization (Quirk)

Kira Kira No Mi is a defense-oriented, Paramecia-type Devil Fruit. It allows Juzo, its user, to completely cover his body in diamond. Gaining an almost impregnable defense.

Crystallization, on the other hand, can be manipulated in a wider range. The user can almost instantly sprout crystals from all over their body to both attack and defend. Although crystallization is more flexible, it has a relatively weaker defense compared to Kira Kira No Mi.

3 Mera Mera No Mi (Devil Fruit) & Hellflame (Quirk)

In every single anime power system, there's always that one fire-related ability. In the case of One Piece and My Hero Academia, these abilities are the Mera Mera No Mi and Hellflame, respectively. Both of these abilities dominate their respective worlds and possess potent destructive power and yet, their respective users were usually the second best.

The current users of these abilities are Sabo, Revolutionary army's Number 2, and Endeavor, the current Number 1 Hero. Coincidentally, Endeavor was once known as the Number 2 hero for the longest time before All Might's sudden retirement.

2 Mane Mane No Mi (Devil Fruit) & Transform (Quirk)

Mane Mane No Mi and Transform are abilities that belong to Bon "Mr.2" Clay and Himiko Toga, respectively. These abilities allow Bon and Toga to transform into other people when certain conditions are met.

The only requirement for Mane Mane No Mi is for its user to touch said target, while Transform's conditions are a tad harsher. Toga would have to ingest her target's blood in order to take their form, which is why she stockpiles blood samples of those she'd most probably impersonate more than once.

1 Gura Gura No Mi (Devil Fruit) & One for All (Quirk)

Both of these abilities are at the top of their corresponding power systems and levels. Gura Gura No Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows its user to conjure quakes. It's one of if not the strongest Paramecia Devil Fruit in all of One Piece. Meanwhile, One For All's main effect is not to create quakes, but that doesn't mean it can't.

It's been clearly shown that All Might (and be extension, Deku) can fire massive shockwaves as long range attacks that, while not exactly his forte, were anything but subpar. Though the two powers are fundamentally different, they are both excellent tools of destruction that give their users the power to essentially wield earthquakes.
