In My Hero Academia, Ochaco is a sweet, friendly, and kind character. She always seems to act like she is ready for a good day and a fun time. As one of Izuku Midoryia's closest friends, she was one of the first classmates who greeted him when he first came to the school.

Ochaco started her introduction into this series by helping Izuku. When he almost fell over in front of the school, she used her anti-gravity Quirk. As a result, she stoppe him from hitting the ground. After causing him to float, she greeted the passionate protagonist with a smile.

Even though Ochaco seems friendly and sweet, she suddenly changes after an announcement in the class. When their teacher advertises the Sports Festival for the school, Ochaco becomes serious. Her classmates immediately notice when they talk with her about the festival.

During this conversation, Ochaco yells that she is going to be serious about this festival. Ochaco rarely shouts, especially with so much passion. But this festival has become significant to her and her goal. So she is prepared to show off in the festival's contests.

It seems odd that the girl who rescues Midoryia twice on the day for the entrance exam wants to be a hero for the money. Of course, she adds that she wants to be rich to use it for her parents.

In one day, Ochaco saves Izuku from something as small as falling over to something as big as catching him before he free falls onto the concrete. But, even though she is so heroic, she didn't answer with something like "helping people" when Izuku and Iida asked her.

Even though Ochaco tends to be kind and friendly, there are times when she becomes intense. During one of her classes, Ochaco and Aoyama have to fight against a Pro Hero. When sparring with the hero, Ochaco gets yanked towards a black hole. Because of her practice with Gunhead, Ochaco's reflexes kick in.

She uses the pull from the black hole to get herself into a position to handcuff the teacher. When she begins to make her move, Ochaco's bright brown eyes turn white. Ochaco flips the hero onto her back, cuffing her hand behind her back.

7 Ochaco gets jealous when it comes to Izuku

When it comes to Class A, Ochaco is always ready to make friends. She can talk to any of them. But she usually spends the most time with Iida, Izuku, and the other girls in the class. However, when it comes to the girls outside of her class, Ochaco becomes less interested in becoming friends, especially when Izuku and Hatsume are together.

Also, when Izuku praises Hatsume for her gadgets, Ochaco seems to get upset over this praise. Even though she usually is a team player, Ochaco doesn't say that she agrees with Izuku.

6 Ochaco chooses a mentor that is almost nothing like her

When it comes to hand-to-hand fighting, Ochaco doesn't show any strong skills fighting in close combat. This lack of skill becomes problematic. After all, as other characters point out, this type of combat is necessary when she needs to be near her opponent to use her Quirk. Ochaco understands this problem. As a result, she picks a mentor who is the complete opposite of her.

Her mentor, Gunhead, is tall, strong, and experienced when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. So he teaches her skills that she uses when she fights.

5 Ochaco strategizes by herself before she fights Bakugo

Up until her fight with Bakugo, Ochaco usually isn't the person who comes up with the plan. Instead, she follows her classmates' lead. In fact, in the contest between teams, Izuku is the one who strategizes for the team.

However, in the first round, Ochaco ends up having to battle Bakugo in the contest. Unlike Ochaco's Quirk, his Quirk is more effective when it comes to combat. But Ochaco decides on utilizing his Quirk in a strategy that she makes on her own.

4 Ochaco begins to get flustered when it comes to Izuku

In the beginning, Ochaco is friendly with Izuku; however, as time goes by, she changes and soon becomes flustered when Izuku talks to her at the mall. Originally, Izuku was one of the people that Ochaco spoke to the most, excluding the girls.

After all, he saved her from a robot, and she looked up to him. But now, she becomes flustered. But she doesn't do it every time. Instead, she only gets flustered at certain times, especially when she thinks too much about their relationship.

3 Ochaco stays calm when aiding Izuku

When it comes to her friendship with Izuku, Ochaco begins to get more flustered when she thinks about her relationship with him. However, at the Christmas party, the girls from her class begin teasing her.

They liked to point out how close she got to Izuku when she tried to help him during a fight with class B. Ochaco manages to avoid getting too embarrassed. Instead of getting flustered, she instead turns red.

During their mock fight against some students from class B, Ochaco has to take charge when something happens to their plan. While chasing a student, Izuku's Quirk gets a new power-up resulting in the Quirk going berserk. Unlike the Quirk's strength and speed, this new power-up becomes extremely dangerous for everyone in the battle, including Izuku.

As a result, Ochaco decides to help him. She then comes up with a plan to use Shinso and his Quirk. Shinso brainwashes Izuku, causing his Quirk to shut down.

1 Ochaco changes her goal

Originally, Ochaco says that she is becoming a Pro Hero in order to get rich. However, as time goes by, Ochaco decides to change her answer. Instead, she agrees with Izuku and Iida's answers and decides that she wants to be a hero for the sake of the victims.

As a result, Ochaco chooses to be more interested in the heroic part of the job instead of the wealth. This change shows how Ochaco's character is developing. She has decided that the safety of the people should define her goal of being a hero.
