Out of all the Pro-Heroes in My Hero Academia, Hawks is one of the most interesting. His actual name is Keigo Takami, but everyone seems to know him primarily as "Hawks". At first, the guy appears to be an homage to the character of Angel from X-Men, but as soon as he starts talking and using his Quirk, it becomes quite clear he's more than that.

Hawks' Quirk, named "Fierce Wings", is insanely strong and one of the most versatile ones we've seen so far in the series, which makes sense considering versatility is what he's best at. But, there are some aspects to this character that still bother us.

10 The Logic Behind His Floating Feathers

So, to break down Hawks' Quirk a bit further, its not something as simple as "flight". Hawks can control all of his feathers seemingly telekinetically at will and move them all individually. Moreso, his feathers can also carry quite heavy objects like people or boulders, are stronger than steel, and can cut most anything with ease.

Is there anything they can't do? But, this issue becomes clear once you ask what is the tensile strength and carrying capacity of these things? Shouldn't they be tied to Hawks' mental/physical strength?

9 He Should Be Able To Fly With A Third Of His Feathers

Speaking of Hawks flight, how exactly does it work? We've seen that just a bundle of his smallest feathers can lift a dog out of traffic and his medium to large-sized ones can carry a human by themselves, so, does Hawks even really need his wings to fly? Can't the guy just support his own weight with two big feathers at all times?

And even more than that, why do his wings need to be so big to fly? If these feathers are as supernaturally strong as the story makes them seem, he should be able to fly with a third of the feathers as long as they cover the same amount of surface area.

8 Are His Feathers Sharp Or Does He Make Them Sharp?

Frankly, the deeper we dive into how Hawks Quirk works the more we think there's another factor at play here. Having wings should be a Quirk in of itself, but his is like some sort of combo Quirk where two different ones are working together. Maybe he comes from a family who all have wings innately thanks to a Quirk Mutation in their family line? Similar to how Tokoyami has a bird head or Koda is a rock person.

And, maybe Hawks just has a telekinetic Quirk that happens to mesh amazingly well with his innate wing-based one?

7 No One Is That Sensitive To Vibrations

Bats use echolocation to see, blind people use clicking to gauge distances with relative success, but how could a person "see" with the vibrations a feather is giving off? This is not even an ability birds have. So how can Hawks gauge so much info due to he micro-sensations in his feathers?

We can see during the fight with High-End that Hawks can picture the people he's saving all over the building thanks to these vibrations, but how? This addition seems to exaggerate Hawks already overpowered abilities.

6 How Can He "See" So Many Places At Once?

The scene where Hawks is walking with Endeavor to a restaurant while simultaneously fighting crime in the background has a ton of information in it. But, one of the most obvious things we picked up from said scene is the fact that Hawks can apparently control all his feathers individually with complex actions and move them as if he could see from them. Remember how he takes that old ladies' luggage up the stairs? Well after he picks up the bag with a feather bundle he looks away.

But, without looking, how does he know where the top of the stairs would be? How do his feathers not bump into the stair in front of them?

5 For A Lazy Hero, He Sure Isn't Lazy Enough

Hawks reveals himself to be more than one would think rather quickly after his debut in the manga. But, even after all is said and done, it's quite clear that Hawks wants to be lazy at all times if he can help it. So, why doesn't he save himself some trouble with his feathers more often?

If the guy was truly as lazy as he makes himself seem, he'd be floating around on a feather mat 24/7. Someone looking to be as lazy as possible would surely figure out more mundane things to do with their overpowered Quirk.

4 His Quirk Might Be More Fowl Than You'd Think

Essentially, once Hawks was first revealed people assumed there was more to his Quirk than meets the eye, and they were right, but not in the way most people were expecting. Still, fans are under the assumption that more than just Hawk's wings are birdlike.

Maybe he has hollow bones, maybe he has a bird's eyesight, but the one with the most evidence is that Hawks might have bird feet. Every single time he shows up in the manga (especially from afar) we can see that author Kohei Horikoshi made a conscious effort to give him the skinniest ankles possible.

3 Doesn't He Feel Weird Eating Chicken?

With so little evidence, fans have been trying to ascertain what kind of bird his Quirk takes after since the day he was introduced to no avail. After seeing how much the guy loves chicken, many fans have expressed their concerns over his possible connection to the bird.

But, even if we find out its some obtuse species of falcon, the fact that this Hero who is so commonly associated with avian creatures is a big fan of eating chicken is sort of disturbing.

2 How Is He Not More Creative With His Quirk?

If these feathers are able to cut through Nomu so easily, shouldn't they be able to cut concrete?

Couldn't Hawks just send a feather out, rotate it at a high speed, and send it through any object like an unbreakable sawblade? Maybe he should teach at UA in his free time so he has an excuse to retrain his critical thinking with his Quirk just a tad more.

1 If His Personality Is An Act, Give Us A Sign Of That

How can Hawks multitask all the things he does and seem so carefree. His personality is lax, his goals are pretty tame, and even his hero costume is pretty basic compared to some of the more complex ones.

If it's a facade, it's a very good one and Hori should've drawn sweat on him while he acts carefree to show that this was the case. And, its obvious that using so many feathers at once is physically or mentally exhausting for him, so why don't we see any hints of that while he's fighting crime?
