My Hero Academia came out of the great as a new anime series that was entertaining and addicting due to its creative approach to the superhero genre. My Hero Academia follows the development of many budding superheroes-in-training and it’s a suitable angle to combine with standard shonen genre tropes. The characters in My Hero Academia have all radically improved since the series’ debut, but there are some individuals who have excelled more than others.
The Big Three is a group that’s composed of U.A. High’s most powerful and acclaimed students, an honor that goes to Mirio Togata, Tamaki Amajiki, and Nejire Hado. Each of these three members is important in their own ways, but Nejire frequently proves why she’s The Big Three’s secret weapon.
10 She Inspired Class 1-A About The Work Studies Program
The public’s perception of heroes is just as important as those heroes’ ability to actually fight crime and work together. My Hero Academia stresses the importance of how All Might is the symbol of peace for the public. Similarly, The Big Three visits Class 1-A to talk to them about the virtues of the Work Studies program. Nejire, Mirio, and Tamaki all vouch for the program, but Nejire praises the effectiveness of her mentorship and she really gets through to the students. Nejire’s attitude inspires more 1-A students to give the Work Studies program a chance.
9 She Stayed Optimistic During The Attack Of Her Teammates
Trust is fundamental with any team and a group like The Big Three wouldn't be able to operate if they always doubted each other or had to jump in to solve their respective problems. Nejire Hado unmistakably cares about Mirio and Tamaki, but her implicit faith in them goes a long way. Tamaki undergoes a major attack and later on Mirio even gets his Quirk erased, but Nejire doesn't panic during these occasions. She knows her partners and understands that more concern isn't going to help them. Her calm helps them survive and feel supported during these difficult moments.
8 She Mastered Her Quirk In Team Battles
The Big Three have been able to make a name for themselves because they’re accomplished individuals, but because they also all possess powerful and versatile Quirks. Nejire Hado’s Wave Motion Quirk converts energy into shockwaves, which may seem fairly basic, but she is able to apply it in many different ways.
Nejire uses her shockwaves as a way to propel herself and gain speed. She gets the most out of her Quirk in a way that benefits Mirio and Tamaki. Despite how they’re in control of their Quirks, they both have much to learn, whereas Nejire is ahead of things.
7 She Performed Well Against Rikiya Of The Eight Bullets
Kai Chisaki’s work to bring the Shie Hassaikai organization to prominence kicks off some of My Hero Academia’s darkest material. One of the first major acts of aggression here comes from Rikiya Katsukame, a member of the Eight Bullets assassin squad. A lot of the members of the Ryukyu Squad are terrified by this new threat, but Nejire is instrumental in the battle. She helps make the takedown of Rikiya possible and helps show those around her that the Eight Bullets are far from invincible. It’s an optimistic way to broach these villains.
6 She Possesses A Large Capacity For Knowledge At U.A. High
U.A. High is a sterling institution that’s helped prepare nearly all of the acclaimed professional heroes that keep the public safe. The Big Three is composed of the best of the best, which means that Nejire Hado’s stats need to be impressive across the board. Nejire is blessed with a strong Quirk, but a major factor in how she became a part of The Big Three is that she’s a sponge for knowledge. Nejire isn’t afraid to question things around her and it’s turned her into a powerful resource that’s both book smart as well as street smart.
5 She Took A Calm & Reasonable Approach During The Shie Hassaikai Raid
The fourth season of My Hero Academia finds ways to test heroes in many ways other than on a physical level. The work of the Shie Hassaikai forces all of the heroes to work together and many of the greener individuals, like Izuku Midoriya, struggle with how to properly control their emotions.
Many heroes go off the deep end, but Nejire Hado becomes an asset due to her level demeanor through this chaos. Nejire is naturally inquisitive and her ability to ask questions and keenly analyze the scenario allows her to help actual headway get made in their ensuing raid.
4 She Has The Ability To Take On Villains Much Larger Than Her, Like Gigantomachia
Size isn’t everything in My Hero Academia, but it’s still incredibly important and an easy way to gain an advantage over an opponent. Some of the most dangerous villains in the anime have asserted their dominance through size or gigantic transformations. This becomes a limitation on which heroes can fight back, but Nejire’s Wave Motion Quirk allows her to rise to the occasion and not get intimidated by stature. Nejire has bravely fought against Gigantomachia and Rikiya, both of whom are multiple times her size. Nejire’s lack of hesitation in this area illustrates why she’s such an asset.
3 She Fought Well Against The Upgraded Shigaraki
Arguably the biggest battle that Nejire Hado has found herself in is against the newly enhanced Tomura Shigaraki. Up until this point, it looked like Mirio Togata was The Big Three member who had been in the most grueling fight with his showdown with Overhaul. However, Nejire tops him against Shigaraki and she actually holds her own in the encounter. Nejire initially works alongside Tenya Iida and then Shoto Todoroki as Shigaraki continues to change up his strategy. Shigaraki comes out victorious, but Nejire is one of the most valuable players coming out of the fight.
2 She Demonstrated Prolonged Stamina Against The Yakuza
Strength is important for a hero, but sometimes a battle can be won through endurance and lasting longer than an especially powerful opponent. One of Nejire Hado’s bigger fights is against the Yakuza’s Rikiya during the Shie Hassaikai Raid, who on paper is stronger than her, especially after the power boost that he’s received. However, Nejire’s Quirk has allowed her to build up exceptional stamina that exceeds the rest of The Big Three. This stamina allows Nejire to outlast Rikiya until his boost wears off, at which point she’s able to reassert her dominance.
1 Her Sacrifice Against Dabi
It’s been consistently exciting to see My Hero Academia get progressively more mature as its characters get older. The latest material in the anime and manga has been the most disturbing yet and one particularly brutal incident relates to Nejire. Nejire is so committed to heroics that Dabi needs to get involved to even things out for the Paranormal Liberation Front. She suffers serious burns over half of her body as a result of Dabi’s Cremation Quirk. It’s a testament to how far Nejire will go and that she’ll put her life on the line to do what’s right.
