The number of different kinds of quirks in My Hero Academia are vast and probably immeasurable. Fans still have yet to see any two quirks that are alike, other than familial quirks like with the Todoroki's ice and fire abilities, and even those differ when compared to one another. Some quirks make the characters a bit more animalistic like the frog-like Tsuyu Asui, while others act more like body enhancements, such as engines for Tenya Iida or literal body armor for Eijiro Kirishima.

But no matter what the quirk, it seems to be extremely unique to the character. Some quirks are used a bit differently than others and have different mechanics that can make them pretty weird. While these weirder quirks aren't weaker in any way, sometimes they make fans question how they work, even more, and raise some eyebrows. Here are some of the 10 weirdest quirks in My Hero Academia.

10 Momo Yaoyorozu (Quirk: Creation)

Yaomomo has one of the best and most useful quirks in Class 1-A. She can create anything out of her skin out by using her body's fat cells, and when she makes too much, it takes a serious toll on her body. Fortunately, Yaomomo knows her limit pretty well and understands just how much she can make before she tires out.

The reason why her quirk is weird is due to the fact that whatever she creates comes out of her exposed flesh and is/was technically a part of her. The logistics behind it are a little strange, even if the quirk is one of the most powerful quirks in U.A.

9 Kurogiri (Quirk: Warp Gate)

Kurogiri warp gate villain

Kurogiri is the caretaker to Tomura Shigaraki and has a portal for a head that allows his allies to teleport to and from his location to their desired places. Kurogiri looks like a black cloud and his limbs all extend out his clothing as dark, smokey, smoke. His appearance is vastly different from many of the characters within the series, as he seemingly doesn't have any facial features other than his freaky eyes.

While Kurogiri's quirk is interesting, unique and useful, it's also a little bit odd especially in regards to how it affects his appearance, as if he is the warp itself.

8 Mina Ashido (Quirk: Acid)

Mina Ashido flashes a thumbs up after battle in My Hero Academia

Mina is the pink Alien Queen of class 1-A. Her quirk is Acid which is pretty awesome, but definitely raises a lot of questions. Mina produces her acid through her own body, which causes a bit of a drawback when she uses too much of it. Mina's power sometimes can be a little gross and weird if used in specific ways but ultimately, it's a pretty ingenious ability.

What is questionable is how her quirk affects her appearance. There are a few characters in My Hero Academia who have quirks outside of their appearance (like Tokoyami) without any real explanation as to why, and Mina is one of those characters.

7 Rikido Sato (Quirk: Sugar Rush)

Compared to the other students of class 1-A, Rikido's food related quirk feels a little odd or even out of place. Once Sato activates his Sugar Rush by eating tons of sugary food, he becomes incredibly strong but seemingly can't think straight. He also suffers from some pretty bad sugar crashes as a result of his sugar-reliant quirk.

His quirk also triggers whenever he eats something sugary, which means he has to constantly be monitoring what he eats so as to not break out in a rush or develop diabetes at such a young age.

6 Himiko Toga (Quirk: Transform)

Toga's quirk seems to be incredibly powerful but like Yaororozu, it appears to be a little weird and gross when actually performed. Long story short, Toga can shapeshift into other people as long as she drinks their blood. She does this a few times throughout the series after acquiring her victim's blood to confuse their allies (like she does with Uraraka to Deku in the Hero License Exam), making her a rather gross version of Mystique from the X-Men comics.

But what makes Toga's quirk weird is what happens when she is done using the form she has taken on. Instead of simply shifting into herself again, Toga seemingly melts off the previous person's face in a pretty gross way, leaving her naked in the middle of the battlefield.

5 Hanta Sero (Quirk: Tape)

Hanta Sero uses his Tape Quirk on an electric pole

Sero is a student in class 1-A along with Mina, Sato, and Yaoyorozu. Sero's quirk is another strange one that comes in handy quite often for the students of 1-A. His quirk allows him to shoot cellophane tape from his elbows that have been shaped like tape dispensers.

Sero uses his quirk often to be reminiscent of Spider-Man and his web-slinging but he used it for a number of other things as well. If Sero uses too much tape, though, he will start to bleed from his elbows which is a little gross when thought about logistically.

4 Tamaki Amajiki (Quirk: Manifest)

Tamaki is a third-year student a part of the "Big Three" at U.A. His quirk is definitely the oddest of the bunch but allows him to perform som pretty amazing feats, which is why he gets a rank in the top three.

Tamaki's quirk gives him traits of anything he eats. This could include, for example, chicken that will grant him talons or wings, takoyaki to give him tentacle fingers, and so much more. Sometimes, Tamaki doesn't know how specific foods will affect him or what quality they will give to him, but he also seems to make it work in his favor.

3 Present Mic (Quirk: Voice)

Present Mic is one of the main teachers at U.A. Academy, appropriately teaching English. Present Mic's quirk allows him to amplify the sounds to reach vaster audiences. This quirk seemingly just makes him a walking megaphone but by using his quirk in specific ways, Present Mic can be so loud that he creates shockwaves strong enough to do some serious damage.

Present Mic's quirk is pretty weird because of the fact that despite such a powerful ability, he most typically uses it to be an announcer at U.A. events and it seemingly doesn't really take a toll on his vocal cords.

2 La Brava (Quirk: Love)

La Brava was a "villain" who aided Gentle Criminal and fell in love with him. While the entire arc focused on Gentle Criminal, it turned out that La Brava may have been the stronger of the pair. With her quirk Love, she can boost the power of those she confesses her love to.

It just so happened she was in love with Gentle Criminal, which boosted his abilities exceptionally, causing him to actually be a threat to Deku. La Brava was the secret weapon of this arc and showcased a truly unique (and admittedly kind of weird) quirk.

1 Best Jeanist (Quirk: Fiber Master)

Best Jeanist has become a fan-favorite pro hero after his fight with the League of Villains during the All For One fight. Best Jeanist was the fourth (now third) Best Hero, and he got that rank thanks to his mastery of his quirk. Best Jeanist uses the jeans that he wears all around him in order to create a spiderweb-like effect on his enemies, trapping them before they could even attack. He can also fortify the clothes of his alleys during combat to kind of act like a shield.

The reason this quirk is a little weird is just for the sole reason that he would always need clothes around him, and would always need the seemingly limited yet vast amount of threads on his costume to always have a weapon at hand. Best Jeaniest mastered this quirk effectively but it's still an oddly specific power not just in the anime, but in superhero fiction in general.
