Rumi Usagiyama, aka Mirko, is one of the top Pro Heroes in My Hero Academia. In fact, she currently holds the number five slot. An impressive feat, considering that she insists on going at it all by herself.
This is a hero best known for her rabbit-like features (and quirk). Yet despite that, there is still much to learn about this character. Here are just ten of the questions surrounding her character. With any luck, fans will begin getting answers in the next story arc or two.
10 What Is Her Backstory?
One of the many things that fans would like to learn about Mirko is her backstory. How did she get into the hero business? Is there a personal reason why she wants to save the day? Or, like many other heroes out there, does she simply want to do it because it's right? Or because it garners fame and fortune?
Without knowing more about her character or her backstory, it's impossible to guess at the reasons why she went down this path.
9 How'd She Get This Far?
Fans have been told (and shown) how difficult it is for heroes to rise in the hero rankings. Yet Mirko has been consistently in the top ten since the series began. How did she manage to climb so high? While fans know the struggle of other top heroes (mainly Endeavor), her whole history is really just a blank slate. Since she's such a unique character, fans would love to know more about her.
8 Will The Anime Allow Her To Speak Her Mind?
Mirko is a bit famous (or infamous) for always speaking her mind. It tends to happen every single time she appears in the manga. It's one of the many reasons why she ends up standing out. That has left fans wondering: will they allow her to keep this trait in the anime?
To lose this part of her character would be a devastating blow. It would significantly alter the character, and arguably not for the better. Hence the reason why it's a question on all of our minds.
7 Where Did She Form Such Strong Opinions?
On a related note, Mirko has shown readers that she is capable of forming very strong opinions. One of which will be discussed in more detail down below. Has this always been in her nature – to form strong opinions?
Or did something happen to her? Something that taught her to hold on to her opinions with both hands, and to not be shy about them either. Yet another question that one can hope will be answered in future appearances.
6 Why The Anti-Group Mentality?
One thing is well known about Mirko's character: she has a bit of a thing against hero agencies. Or hero teams. Or really, any hero who doesn't work solo. She has literally stated that in her mind, all heroes who join teams are cowards.
Bold words, but she's made it to the top by working all by herself. Still, one has to wonder where she formed such harsh opinions against teams. Did something happen? Or it that just her personal preference?
5 What's It Like To Work Solo At That Level?
On that note, it would be great if her character provided more insight into what it's been like to work solo. She's one of the few who climbed so high, all while refusing to ever consider a team-up. Fans do know that she loves the thrill, but there's got to be more to it than that, right?
Even in the current story arc, Mirko was shown racing ahead of the other heroes. She put herself in a situation where backup didn't stand a chance to get to her and she loved every minute of it. Even when she began taking damage. Yet it still feels like there's more to her side of the story.
4 Is There A Hero She'd Be Willing To Work With?
Mirko clearly doesn't want to work with other heroes. She doesn't see herself as a coward, and clearly is concerned about others using her to get a leg up in the world. Still, would she ever consider working with another hero?
Specifically one of the heroes ranked higher than her? Technically, she is working with other heroes during the current plot. Just not directly. Is that something she was willing to do, or did she have to get harassed into helping?
3 Does She Use Any Support Equipment?
Many heroes out there use support equipment. Even All Might admitted to trying support once or twice. But what about Mirko? Does she use any support equipment, or does that fall under the same category as working with heroes? Some parts of her outfit could imply the use of equipment, especially around her feet. Yet, there's been no confirmation of this. It's one of the many questions to be answered about her character.
2 Can Her Arm Be Saved?
As mentioned above, in the most recent story arc (the Paranormal Liberation War Arc), Mirko went in ahead of the rest of the heroes. She found herself facing off against several Nomu, and while she did better than most, she did take a lot of damage.
Most notably, her arm was literally crushed. Given the limitations fans have seen in terms of healing (look at Deku's scarred hands), it leaves plenty of room for concern. Can her arm be saved?
1 Did She Even Survive What Just Happened In The Manga?
For that matter, it's been a while since Mirko was shown. For all fans know, she's not even going to survive the current confrontation. There are many heroes (and villains) with an unknown status. So, the final question is; is Mirko going to survive? If so, how does she survive? Any and all details will be gladly accepted by her adoring fans.
