The cover of My Hero Academia Volume 34 will feature new art of Star and Stripe.

SPOILERS FOR MY HERO ACADEMIA FOLLOW:

The new cover was posted online by Weekly Shonen Jump News - Unofficial and shows a new look at the United States' highest rank pro-hero. Though Cathleen Bate/Star and Stripe was only featured in the story for a short few manga chapters, the powerful superhero made a lasting impression with fans due to her reality-redefining Quirk and bold personality. The cover offers an officially colored look at her costume, which was inspired by both the American flag and the costume of Star and Stripe's mentor, the selfless All Might.

The character was first introduced in the manga in Chapter 303, and a younger version of her has been glimpsed a few times in the anime. She is the top pro-hero in the United States, and wields the powerful Quirk known as "New Order," which allows her to control bestow new properites to herself or anything around her. While the ability was limited to setting two new rules at a time, it was an incredibly powerful Quirk that allowed her to do everything from massively increasing her own strength to nullifiying the powers of her opponents. The U.S. military even supported her with a squadron of state-of-the-art fighter jets and gave her the authorization to call in cruise missile strikes. Her reality-breaking powers made her both a target and a threat to the villainous mastermind All for One, who both feared and coveted her Quirk.

While Star and Stripe was ultimately unable to defeat the newly combined All for One/Shigaraki, she was able to significantly damage the supervillain and disabled some of the stolen Quirks at his disposal, which will undoubtedly help the remaining pro-heroes of the world as they initiate their final plan to take out All for One once and for all. The manga recently kicked off its final story arc, and series creator Kohei Horikoshi stated at the most recent Jump Festa that the series is planned to conclude sometime before the end of 2022.
