The League of Villains is by far one of the most interesting factions within My Hero Academia for the sole fact that it's made up of so many different colorful characters who are often at odds with not only the heroes, but one another. Despite this, they still work together to bring down the current hero society that they deem to be incredibly unjust and problematic, though their personal methods vary greatly.
Due to many of them being outcast because of the nature of their Quirks being perceived as evil, they have unique powers that can't be found anywhere else within the series. However, be it from mental instability or simply their own egotistical ideals, many of them lack the maturity required to fully reach out and grab the future they wish to attain.
10 Muscular Only Joins To Let His Violent Tendencies Run Wild And Is Far Too Overconfident
Muscular is an incredibly powerful and intimidating villain, but that immense power is also his downfall. It allows him to become maniacally overconfident, and this overconfidence leads to him using less than his full power and getting distracted during his fight with Izuku after viewing him as lesser.
The only thing Muscular wants to use his power for is to kill, and he couldn't care less about the League's agendas. His view of right and wrong is also childish, as he believes whomever is the victor has proven their ideals to be "right" and the loser is automatically wrong.
9 Dabi Is Apathetic With A Complete Disregard For All Human Life, Including Himself
When Dabi is young, he's molded by Endeavor to have nothing except the unstoppable drive to be number one, which makes it all the more mentally scarring when his father abandons him. This causes him to snap, changing his primary goal to ruining his family name and harming those who used to be closest to him.
Dabi takes great pleasure in toying with and inflicting pain on Pro Heroes and students alike, not caring who he hurts in the process, and this even includes himself. After an attempt to immolate both himself and his brother Shoto, Dabi admits that he doesn't feel anything anymore aside from absolute apathy.
8 Himiko Toga Cares For Her Allies But Is Prone To Mood Swings And Violent Outbursts
Himiko is originally perceived as a normal and cheerful girl, and those around her are shocked by her transformation into an unhinged villain. However, she herself states that her 'normal' side is no more than an act she put on, and that her current unhinged self is the true her.
Although she's shown to care for her allies, especially Twice, Himiko is far too prone to mood swings or playful childlike behavior to be considered mature. After Twice's passing, she's completely unable to compose herself and goes on a blind murderous rampage in an attempt to avenge him.
7 Daruma Ujiko Is A Skilled Scientist But He's Also Prone To Bursts Of Panic And Cowardice
Daruma Ujiko--real name Kyudai Garaki--is a skilled scientist who's responsible for the creation of the Nomu that Shigaraki utilizes, and goes as far as to view them as his children. He considers All For One to be a true friend, and even tears up upon thanking him for allowing him to pursue his scientific desires.
However, Daruma's scientific brilliance is matched by an equally cowardly persona when challenged. It doesn't take much to send Daruma into a cowardly panic when he's faced with any kind of threat, and this inability to keep a level head shows a clear lack of maturity.
6 Tomura Shigaraki Is Arrogant, Childish And Overconfident, Though His Personality Begins To Mature With Time
When Shigaraki is first introduced, his personality can be summed up relatively accurately as a "man-child." He only seems to care about his own desires and is quick to anger and throw tantrums if he doesn't get his way.
This part of his personality does mellow out with time, as he's able to become more patient and controlled. However, as he gains newfound power, Shigaraki also becomes staggeringly overconfident, believing that he's powerful enough to reign victorious even when he's nearly confronted with his own death.
5 All For One Can Charm His Subordinates Into Following Him, But Is Truly Selfish And Power-Hungry
All For One is mature enough to be able to mask his true intentions in order to get others to submit to his will. For example, though he acts like a kind mentor to Shigaraki who wishes to see him grow, the truth is that he only desires to use Shigaraki as a tool to steal One For All. Behind the performance, All For One is a selfish, egomaniacal and cruel villain whose only true goal is to ensure that there's a Symbol of Fear out there to destroy the sense of peace that All Might cultivated in the public.
4 Twice Struggles With Mental Instability But Manages To Feel Peace In His Final Moments
Twice is one of the most tragic members within the League, as he originally makes clones due to being lonely and desperate for companionship. However, this would also cause him to become unstable, as he begins to question whether he's a clone or the original.
This manifests itself as a split personality that became much harder to tame without his mask. However, it's shown that Twice makes peace with himself in his final moments, as he gives up his own life to protect the close friends he'd managed to make within the League.
3 Mr. Compress Acts As A Voice Of Reason For The League But Lets His Entertainer Skillset Interfere With His Work
Mr. Compress has one of the least outright violent reasons for joining the League, as his goal is to expose how unjust hero society truly is and fight against wealthy heroes corrupted by their fame. He also often acts as a voice of reason within the League and a mentor figure to younger members, as well as keeping them in line.
However, Compress' biggest downfall is the fact that he often lets his entertainer skillset interfere with his work. The only reason the Bakugo Escort Squad is able to catch up to him is because he spends so much time taunting them, and then he almost loses Bakugo after taking a moment to bow and celebrate his victory.
2 Spinner Follows Stain's Ideals Down To The Letter, Which Makes Him More Moral Than Most Others In The Group
Spinner is the member of the League most impacted by Stain, to the point where he dresses the same and uses the same weaponry style. He also adopts Stain's ideals down to the letter, which makes him a much more moral villain than most of the others he works alongside.
This is shown when Spinner attacks a fellow villain just to save Izuku, someone who Stain had dubbed worthy of being called a hero and kept alive. He also doesn't agree with Shigaraki's plan to destroy the world and seems terrified when the other mentions it, but knows he lacks the power necessary to stop Shigaraki from attempting to do so.
1 Kurogiri Is Level-Headed, Polite And Keeps Shigaraki In Check Despite Being A Nomu
Despite being a Nomu that was created by Daruma, Kurogiri is far from mindless and in fact exhibits the most mature traits out of anyone in the League. He remains polite even towards his enemies, though he does still possess a cruel side that revels in the suffering of others.
Kurogiri is completely unfazed by Tomura's personality and cares only for his well-being, having been programmed to be deeply loyal to both him and All For One. His levelheadedness does a great job at combating Tomura's more immature side.
